Games have different limitations than scene demos, it's incomparable unfortunately. Alarcity uses 32x32 sprites, so it takes twice the effort for an OCS machine to match that. And even if we managed to cramp the same amount of sprites/bobs on screen as we do now with AGA/020, for OCS we still would had to cut colors at 1/4 to make it work. And then you'd also need a beefy machine with extra ram and better processor (probably) to cope with the current level of action plus 50hz 8 way scrolling. So, you see, it's a multi layered problem. I'm not claiming it's 100% impossible, just very, very difficult.

In any case, we'll see what happens.
For now Enjoy Worthy!

I get it, Demos aren´t games.

But; (why does there have to be always a BUT , why cant i just shut up )
you see, alot of people that want to use WHDload on there 16Bit Amigas have Turbocards, meaning Extra Ram and even faster processors.

Myself included. I use a Furia Card in my A600 and that thing is CRAZY
68020EC with 9.5 Fast-Ram + 1.5 SlowRAM and i have 2Meg of Chipmem

Just look at the Memory Performance of that Beast. Crazy.
But you are right of couse, and its up to you guys to choose the plattform.

Besides, its hard work to make a game, i tried it ... man... the result was just... well... lets face it.. eahm............not so great.

So, i dont blame you, if you dont make extra work for the 16 Bit amigas.
I am still happy that you guys are around

Yes, and i enjoy Worthy very much.
I even showed it to a friend that had a Amiga back in the day and he could not believe that software is still made for the AMIGA

He is not really a gamer, at least the modern games but he loved worthy and had a big smile on his face while he played it.

So, mission accomplished

(and you didn´t say NO to AlarCity on 16-Bit so i am SUPER HAPPY)

love you guys

This is a conversation about Worthy and I didn't want to sidetrack that, but I felt the need to chip in my own two cents about AlarCity for ECS.

Even if we were to assume performance wasn't an issue, it could only really be done for ECS with serious compromise. Without counting copper effects, AlarCity has a 48 colour palette (16 background, 16 foreground, 16 sprite). The sprite palette changes during the game (the character has entirely distinct red, green, blue and purple palettes - we may still add more) so it can't easily be shared with the BOBs or background. Which is to say, we'd need to reduce the 32 colours available to the BOBs and Background down to merely 16.

That's not the only complication (we couldn't use sprites for rendering the character and shots anymore since there could often be over 10 on a scanline, for example) but by itself it'd be a marked reduction in graphical fidelity from the AGA edition.

In short, we've designed it around AGA considerations, it'd be best if we keep it AGA exclusive we're going to release more OCS games in future, of course.

I would love some serious AGA games too, world is full of half-assed OCS->AGA conversions and "let's make it run on both" attitude, but something that shows the full potential of AGA machines would be great to see and show to people at Amiga events etc. If they aren't old nostalgia people wanting their crappiest childhood memories, they always ask "the best you can do with this machine" :P Some technical oriented young lads really appreciate the few AGA only titles I've shown them. SlamTilt always impresses more than Pinball series if you don't know them before, Roadkill's dual playfield scrolling was something which got comments like "this is what I meant", Banshee's and T-Zer0's graphics, etc

Just purchased the digital copy. Looks great - first Amiga game I've purchased in ages.

Well done!

Anyone have any issues running the game?

I get either or guru or a black screen when it tries to boot. Also I can't read the disk from inside Workbench.

I have a PAL a600 with kick 3.1 and 2mb of chip ram.

Is the floppy dead?

The floppy is NDOS so you won’t be able to access it from workbench.

What is your setup?

Ah, okay, I'm still learning some things about the amiga.

My a600 has a A604 memory expansion and it boots workbench from a CF card. I upgraded the kickstart from 2 to 3.1. Nothing else really.

There should be no problems with that setup. Do you have other floppies that boot ok?

Booted two other floppies to see if the drive was the problem. Both games booted and played fine.

Worthy still won't boot. However, I just noticed I have a blinking caps lock, so hardware error maybe?
