Best Game of 2019 ;-)

So without further ado, I think it's now time for this thread

I was indecisive whether or not to make it a "single vote" or "multi vote" poll; in the end I went for the second option... and I really wish that vBulletin would allow say a 1st / 2nd / 3rd option when casting your votes, but alas

Personally I went for the following; as they most definitely gave me the most enjoyment / repeat playing time:

1st: Rygar - The Legendary Warrior [AGA]
2nd: Sinbad and the Throne of the Falcon [Atari ST conversion]
3rd: Trap Runner: Black Strawberry Cake
4th: Black Dawn Rebirth

That's not to say that I didn't enjoy some of the other games though; it was a good year for the Amiga, and long may it continue

I really, really have to check out Black Dawn Rebirth. It's totally gone under my radar and looks to be a very nice game indeed. Anyway, I voted too.

I vote for Landfill because I find it very addictive simple arcade logic game that can be played in spare time.
Second vote gone for Bridge Strike - great game with nice graphics and lot of action.
Third one is for Rygar - bit too hard for me, but it feels like a full pro aracde game, something that can give lot of joy if I master to play it.
Last vote is for Pong 4k - simple game to play in spare time, but music elevate it above rest of other games.

I'm not going to comment on all of the above, besides below... and some were discussed in the following thread already, along with reason as to why they shouldn't be included: Best Game of 2019 so far...

Anyway:

• Bagman (2019 Jotd) ___ final version not released until January 2020, but still being worked on
• Raid Over Moscow (2019 Reimagine) ___ final version hasn't been released yet, only prototypes / previews and still being worked on
• Tetris Pro (1998-2019 Illusion Software) ___ already in the poll
• Total Carnage SE (1994-2019 ICE/Earok) ___ already in the poll
• Worldwide Hunting (1992 Golden Gate Crew/Golem) ___ how is this a 2019 game release exactly? It was just found / cracked in 2019...

Here's an idea though Aladin; if you feel this poll is inadequate; then why don't you create your own poll over at Amiga France, and then can put in whatever you feel is relevant (even without proper justification)?

In general I think it's nice to get verification from various sources/people when it comes to new amiga game releases. Production on the Amiga game making scene has gone way up the last few years and it's hard to keep track of them all.

To Aladin's list:

As Damien mentioned, these two are still WIP.

These are in the poll already but I think Aladin's point is that they are modifications. Not new releases per se.

-Worldwide Hunting (1992 Golden Gate Crew/Golem)

I agree with Damien. Not a new release, no new content here either, just a crack for an old game (already released back in 1992) that was never cracked before.

This one is indeed a 2018 release, not 2019. It's also in Lemon's 2018 list. It's an oversight in my own list.

I'm not sure if any SDL port would be valid in such a poll, which seems to be more oriented towards new games released or (at least) ports made from scratch. Then again, there are no clear rules set and modifications are also included. Also Kobo Deluxe (which is in the poll already) is an SLD port. So...

Same goes for this one. Only it's a ScummVm port, which makes it even less relevant.

Ok, I never played any of the games listed, but I gave a vote for 4, and will explain why:

1) Pong 4K [CD32]
Apart from my friend Cobe coded this, I looked at youtube clips and saw this is, indeed a very playable game. Very modern design, and great music.

2) Rygar - The Legendary Warrior [AGA]
Haven't played arcade version, haven't played Amiga remake.... But.... what I saw from many threads, this was a very long process of conversion by our friend mcgeezer. He created thread where he posted regular Wip-s, helping other coders (in the future) to try and do something of that scale. At the end - he finished it! He done it! What else could be say here? I'd give him 77 votes if I could.

Now.. here I just voted for another 2 that was just something that I stumbled, while being in Amiga community.

3) Lumberjack Platform [RedPill]
Haven't played this game but I gave my vote, because RedPill is used, and in my opinion , that "game maker" app on Amiga deserves more attention.

4) Reshoot R [AGA]
I might be the only one who is not heavily impressed with this game, neither I know ((or understand) what's all about that graphics, and why it's so top notch.
However, I have great respect to all people that see what I don't, and especially creators of the game. I like how persistent they are. I hope we will see many Reshoot R in the future. This team rocks!

ok i agree it's not a new game on amiga, he is out of competition (2019 modifications). Same "Total Carnage S.E" and "Tetris-Pro" , not new game: out of competition

Cant really comment on "Tetris-Pro" as I haven't played it / seen what modifications were actually made.

...but with "Total Carnage S.E"; there was stuff like MODs added which weren't in the original.

Anyway, let's please move on. This poll is what it is and I think's it decent.
