IBrowse error:00000000:lib(0):func(0):reason(0) with MiamiDX

Hi hopefully someone may be able to please help.

I've installed IBrowse 2.4 on my Amiga 4000 but when I try to visit a https site I get the dreaded "error:00000000:lib(0):func(0):reason(0)"

On the IBrowse website there is a patch fix for AmiTCP, however I can't install it as I don't have AmiTCP but instead I use MiamiDX...

I tried to also install AmiTCP just so I can try the patch, but it won't install as asks for a root login username and password!!!

Any help is really appreciated.

I've never heard of that error and I did check on the IBrowse site which didn't really explain what it was. All I can suggest is maybe you try AmiSSL v4.3 if you're currently running version 3. Any more particulars on your setup? CPU/OS etc. ? Like I said, never seen that error before from IBrowse. Running an A1200 060/OS3.1/Roadshow here.

Regarding the AmiTCP, there are threads out there explaining how to set it up, so you might want to do a bit of searching. It helped me when I was setting up AmiTCPv3 - there was a website I found with detailed instructions.

Hi thanks for the replies. I checked with the iBrowse author who replied with this:

Unfortunately, the https implementation in 2.4 is too old and most sites have shut off this protocol, which is the reason for those errors.

Try IBrowse 2.5 and AmiSSL v4 instead - now available from the website below.

Oliver
so I'll give that a try!
