If it's fitted properly in the XBOX there's no way it's ever gonna misalign.
That chip oozes quality all over (except for the USB thingie).

Yep. Seems like that money is better spent on buying a replacement hard disk. Heck, you can get a used XBOX for about the same amount of money.

ermmm.... guys.... 30-40 bucks for a modchip?!

damn your getting ripped... you can get a mod chip as little as €7 euro's that have needed functionality. I have just finished setting up one with an Aladdin Advance, when you update the firmware bios with Xecutor 5x it functions as well as any 30-40 buck device...

check these places

infact now that I mention it, I was wondering if anyone in Spain could help me acquire

the following from www.gigabytesistemas.com

2 of LCD module for the XBox, as i cannot seem to get them to deliver to the UK and my XDream really needs one of these as does another project.

If anyone can help me out I would be in your debt

(obviously i would pay all fees in advance )

This shop also has them. They are a little more expensive but I think they deliver to the UK.

€11 + shipping. Not a bad price. However still more than a softmod kit off ebay.

www.modchip.it
XENO FX (ALADDIN ADVANCE XT) for €6 + postage. Not bad at all!

www.mrmodchips.co.uk
Went out of business a long time ago!

www.modchip-store.co.uk
£11.99 + postage. More expensive than a softmod kit.

www.techsick.com
Duo X3 £5.99 + shipping. Nice price... shipping from Oz though?

www.kanection.co.uk
The cheapest they do is £19.99 + postage which is more than a softmod kit.

So that is two (depending on the price of postage) that could come in under the price of a softmod kit. And they can only be used once.

P.S. I reworked the URL's so they point directly to the chips!

It is still 15 -25 US $, plus shipping and handling.

Yesterday I got myself wireless controller for x-box for 10 bucks and 5 games for another 10 bucks. (Need for Speed Underground, Blood Omen 2, Ghost Recon, Sega GT 2002 (with Jet Set Radio Future on it) and Prince of Persia: Warrior Within) With this purchase I got all PoP games.

Also price of xBox is now 60 bucks.

As far as I can tell it works good.

I wonder only what battery life time will be. (2 x AA batteries)

If battery life is good I will get 2-3 more of those.

Personally I like the room totally dark when watching movies. First thing to configure in XBMC is to switch the LED's off during playback!

My mate has fitted a HD LED to his... WTF for??

To see when the HD is accessed. You know... computers do it
It's like these fancy casemods with blinking lights.

And that information is useful when on the X-box?? I hate mods which are all bling and no technological or mechanical advantage.

Me too. One of my friends once had a cigarette lighter build in his PC (I'm not kidding) and the funny thing was, that it would shut down once the cigarette lighter was used Well it lasted for about 2 hours in his PC

I have discovered both the joys and the dangers of having a modded XBOX. So far the joys are Outrun, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Serious Sam and the dangers are mithering about undone housework, a flat ass and this:

You have no flatrate over there? Isn't it available or too expensive? I think here in germany nearly everybody has a flatrate for internet.

They describe it as flat rate with a cap which is marketing nonsense. What they're really selling is 500Kbps/2GB limit for $25 per month, 1Mbps/25GB limit for $35 per month, 7Mbps/60GB limit for $45 per month, 10Mbps/95GB limit for $55 per month or 18Mbps/95GB limit for $100 per month (all prices in Canadian dollars).

True flat rate isn't available because my provider has a monopoly. I have their 7Mbps/60GB package and looking at my statistics I see that I usually use about 10-15GB of data per month so I could get away with a cheaper service but I don't want to give up the speed. Even though I pay for 7Mbps I routinely see speeds in the 11-12Mbps range.
