Ugh, no, I know test clips in real life, and I know they'd be too large

If you put an A600 rom in an A500, will it not fail on communicating with IDE/PCMCIA?

If you do it the other way round, it may work, but there will be no IDE/PCMCIA support in there..

The A500 was running fine with the 3.1 ROM that has PCMCIA and IDE support in it if needed. Just because the device isn't present doesn't mean the system halts if it doesn't find them, the OS is made to accommodate for different specs (this 3.1 is for A500/2000/600)

Indeed, it won't do anything.

Some versions of 2.05 have problems with Zorro bus fast ram expansions, however. I noticed I had part of the RAM in the memory list twice when I was experimenting on an upgraded A500.
