Gotek/internal/external drive combination

Hello all,

I've got an Amiga with a Gotek drive, the Amiga's original internal drive, and a proper external floppy. Fun as the Gotek is, it just doesn't have the fun nostalgic feeling of popping a disk in the internal drive and off you go.

What I'd like to do is have the Gotek and internal drive in the case (there's room) and then have a normal external drive for those multi disk games. I'd like to be able to switch between the Gotek/internal drive as DF0 and leave the external drive as a DF1. Without opening up the case all the time too.

Any suggestions how I might do this?

depends on how good you are with electronics, but the easiest solution is probably to use a toggle switch for the power of the two, so only one is powered at a time - the signals on the ribbon cable can then just be connected to both.

Otherwise you're looking at e.g. connecting SEL0 exclusively to one of them at a time.

If you have room to put a second external drive internal then you can daisy chain that off your other external. I have my Amiga in an ATX tower case with DF0 a gotek, DF1 and 2 daisy chained externals but mounted internal to the case.
