AmigaOne XE Noob Installation of OS4.1FE

Hi all,

So, I inherited an AmigaOne tower, the XE G4/933 version. It is:

Mobo
Radeon VE AGP card 8mb by the looks.
SIL IDE Card
PCI SB live 5.1
Generic USB hub PCI

Know nothing about these at all; but have gone up a steep learning curve even to get it booting and seeing the IDE devices. That all works now; and I can boot from the Amiga OS 4.1 CD. Problem being that the Kickstart loads; and then the next screen is just black. Have tried:

1) Another display.
2) Removing the sound card and USB PCI.
3) Bought an Amiga OS 4.1 FE CD specifically for the XE. The one that came with it was for the 440, and was 4.1 non-FE. All to no avail.

My next thought is that this is some sort of AGP driver problem? Should I try a PCI video card? Is there anything else I am missing/doing wrong?

Don't really want to spend much more on getting this thing working; so I thought I should seek help before buying a PCI video card. Any help appreciated.

It is not a AGP problem, but you should anyway get better Graphics card.

Something like Radeon 9100/9200/9250.

Some Radeon HD cards might work also.

Usual problem with these board are that mother board battery has too low voltage? eab is not best Place to ask, amigaworld might have more users wich this kind of board.

Are you using a wireless keyboard & mouse? I found my XE needs to have a keypress on the keyboard on the black "Amiga OS" screen or it'll hang. Was fine with wired.
