External SCSI2SD v5.5 on A3000D, power via DB25?
I recently bought a SCSI2SD v5.5. The one in a case with a DB25 connector which I can directly connect to the A(A)3000(+) external DB25 SCSI connector.
I haven't tried it yet, wanted to wait for after I picked-up my AA3000+, which is still at the guy building (and joining in on the DSP testing), but I have some questions: - Will the SCSI2SD get power from the DB25 connector, or does it still need external power via USB? - How do I need to configure the A(A)3000(+) in terms of termination. I believe there are some jumpers to(un)set on the A(A)3000(+) PCB? Thanks! |

If the termpower diode is assembled in the correct orientation in your 3000, it should be enough to power the scsi2sd. Some had it reversed apparently. A quick fix, but the 3000 is a bit of a pain to take apart. The AA3000+ will most likely have been built correctly.
There are no termination jumpers. Per default the resistor packs are in, just leave them be. Will you have any internal SCSI devices in the A3000s? |

Thanks a lot, that sounds promising. No, the SCSI2SD will be the only SCSI device.

Ok, then just leave the termination packs as they are. If they're not there, you might be able to get away without.
