is there a list of Rys usb adaptor compatible joysticks/game pads around?

Hi

I have 2 Rys II Usb to 9 oin adaptors. The one plugged into the mouse port works without a hitch and I can use whatever usb mouse I want on my A1200.

The one plugged into the joystick port does not. It refuses to recognise any of the usb joysticks I have tried. (Which is so far a xbox contoller and Saltek joystick).

Does anyone know if there is a list of compatible usb joysticks/gamepads available for the Rys II? The blurb suggests that they should just work after you press buttons 9 and 10, which is not my experiance at all.

I know that the joystick port on the Amiga is working as it accepts a 9pin Zipstick.

Thanks in advance.

Yep, the manufacturer has a list on this page. Apparently wireless 360 controllers don't work, but I don't know about wired ones. And there's a Saitek listed as compatible so I'd expect that to work.

Bear in mind however that Zipsticks and other standard joysticks don't need a +5V power supply, so they'll work fine even if the +5V supply to the port has failed, whereas "intelligent" things like the Rys need +5V. So that's a possibility. Have you tried the controller as player 2 on something in the mouse socket? Or tried a mouse in the other port? Have you swapped over the two Rys adaptors?

I've seen the +5V supply fail due to a failed protection resistor on the A1200, so it's a distinct possibility.

Hi many thanks for the reply.

Ive swapped the adaptors around so know both work, and plugged the mouse into the joy port where the Rys recognised it so I have 5 volts there. I guess its just a compatibility issue. I had no idea that so few josticks and pads were compatible.

XBox360 controllers have issues as they are primarily XInput. So until such a driver is written not going to happen. As for Saitek never used one so can't comment

Hi, all! I have the Rys MKII adapter and I'm trying to connect through it my Thrustmaster Dual Power 3 gamepad. It doesn't works. However usb-mouse works fine. So, I'm looking for supported devices list (mostly gamepads) for this adapter.

Unfortunately, there are no more such a list on the original site (I've tried to find it by the link above). May be anyone has it?

Highly recommend the iBuffalo, it's cheap yet good quality. My go-to pad for gaming on real Amiga and emulators.

Rys also works fine with a real SNES pad+USB adapter.

I can't confirm the Mayflash or Raphnet USB adapter (don't have them) but the one from Tomee works perfectly fine for me.

Rys MKII + 8Bitdo usb wireless + 8bitdo controller?

Anyone tried the following combination? If so, did it work?

Rys MKii on an Amiga joystick port.
8bitdo usb wireless adapter (https://shop.8bitdo.com/products/8bi...c-raspberry-pi) in the Rys USB port
Control the Amiga with an 8bitdo wireless controller.

I have 2 8bitdo controllers and 2 Rys MKIIs, so wondering whether to get me these wireless adapters.

Wired they work! So connecting the controller with a USB cable to the Rys Mkii. Guess I'm gonna take the plunge and buy 1 wireless adapter and if it works a second one

Update. I can confirm the 8bitdo wireless adapters work. At least on my CD32 (I read somewhere the CD32 has more power on the db9 than regular Amigas). I tried it with a 8Bitdo SN30Pro (not the plus) and a PS4 dual shock. Both work great but the button mapping is very weird. I'm not the only one noticing this: http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=...1&postcount=15

So it would be cool if @spidi / 7-bit hardware could update the firmware. Or maybe allow custom button mapping, maybe with hex editing a firmware?

I realise now I have another option as well. I have a Brook PS2 adapter, which I can also use on a PC via USB instead of PS2 connector. So maybe also on the Rys. So that's the next test project https://www.brookaccessory.com/detail/44237976/

Mmm, the brook adapter works button wise, but not D-Pad wise. I assume it requires too much power, not being provided by the CD32/Rys MkII.

I have the Retrobit Sega Saturn pad in the 2.4ght version, unfortunately it doesn't work on the Rys II. Is there a current list of controllers that run in CD32 mode somewhere? Would be very helpful for me.
