Catweasel MK4 & WinUAE/AmiKit 1.5.9

Hi,

Anyone have this working?

I've installed multidisk.device v3.65 into the devs: directory and have a CAT: mountlist in the dosdrivers directory and have selected the Catweasel Z2 emualtion button in WinUAE 2.3.0 and when trying to access CAT: all I get is No disk present.

I've searched and searched but can't seem to find a solution.

Does anyone have any ideas? Oh and Imagetool works fine.

Hi vamigan,

You have said that ImageTool is working correctly, so I'm not saying that this is necessarily the cause of WinUAE's failure to detect a disk in the Catweasel's floppy drive, but I would say that if you have not given the Catweasel its own floppy drive (i.e. it is sharing Windows' floppy drive), then you would have a better chance of success if you did - even if it means losing Windows' floppy drive while you give it a try.

Please ignore this if your PC doesn't have a floppy drive, as there are many that don't now.

Hi Prowler,

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't seem to change anything, unplugged the floppy drive from the motherboard. Although I thought that the drivers that ImageTool uses, so does WinUAE, is that not correct? Or is WinUAE MK4 drivers all internal now?

Tried both unit numbers in mount list?
Checked winuaelog.txt? (enable logging in misc panel forst)

Hi Toni,

Yes, have tried both unit numbers and no difference.

It looks like I'm getting an error of:
catweasel_do_bput e8=ff fail err=31

in the winuaelog.txt also looks like my CD drive is erroring some as well.

Have no idea what these mean though. Do you? :-)

Scary looking CD errors are perfectly normal (when no media inserted)

Windows error code 31:

Unfortunately I have no idea what it really means..

So far I've got it working if I start AmiKit then press F12 to pull up UAE's config and then select the restart button and then the start button to start AmiKit again and then the Floppy is recognized. Although its extremely sloooowww. So ImageTool would be better to use.

Hi Toni,

This seems to be working fine now, but I have to restart WinUAE for it to start working. It won't work first time from a cold start. Any ideas maybe?

Same problem for me, Catweasel Floppy extremely slow in WinUAE, and needs restarting trick to go. When using older WinUAE 1.3.4 no need to restart but the slowness of the floppy is there also. Maybe try without windows drivers? But how to do it?
