Gotek (jumper) settings as external floppy

How should it be set up?

I had it as an internal before. It seems to work but I want to make sure it is configured the right way.

Drive select 0 for the vast majority of external amiga drives.

Thanks, can you have a look at this screenshot?

The text is half hidden behind the case so I can not make a better photo...

As of now, a jumper is on the third pairs from the right. All others are open. The pins at the current jumper might be S followed by O, 0 or C.

Ok, thanks. The Gotek had this config also when it was internal, DF0. I assumed that it had to be a different setting for internal/external. Anyway, thanks.

Nope, the external drive's logic pcb handles the select signal for you.

Actually, I just setup my external Gotek drive, and in order to make it work propperly I needed to pull off jumper S0 and placed it onto S1.

Now it works great. I'm using the Action Replay MK3 variable-boot option. When I insert a disk in either my regular (df0) drive or my (df1) Gotek drive, it boots-up!
Works well with multi-disk trackloaders too because the AR3 makes the system think that the drive it booted from is actually df0, even if it's in fact the df1 drive. Love it!

Quite rare that. I've had similar looking drives where the mechanism is S0, but there were like 10 different drives with that same looking case back in the day. Out of interest, does it have any make/model markings on the bottom of the case?

As said in other threads, check what the physical mechanism was set to before plugging in the gotek. :-)
