DPS Reality capture card software

Hello,

I have the parts to bring up an old Leitch DPS Velocity system. It uses the Leitch 743-190 - 743-191 PCI capture card with the BOB-4000 breakout box. I have the umbilical cable too. Can anyone help me find the DPS software editing suite or buy an old copy, pretty please?

Has anyone here used this hardware? Does the capture card work with any other software?

are we talking about peecee software? archive.org lists some downloads,
but they were hosted on a ftp site - so they were not archived.
so at least some filenames we can look for anywhere else.

It's a great start, thanks! Yes, it's probably Windows software but that's fine. It will sit right next to my A4000T Toaster Flyer setup I have registered on the forum sites but no answer there yet. There is so many of those cards are around that I would think the software must be somewhere.

Update, I found an old version of the dpsReality software with help from the post above. The software has to be registered to work and the site is down, serial number on the card is no good, etc. It looks like a dead end without the original manual and cd's

hmm, damn turnkey systems - scene usually didnt bother with those. so now hard to find something in the wild.
according to wikipedia it was sold - ended up in the hand of some financial investor, Gores.
they have a contact formular, maybe worth a try, as a last resort.

After little research i found a way to download old files. You can use filenames from web archive provided by emufan and use it in this way:

thanks. installed them, which went fine, even prompting for a missing dpsNLE.exe.
trouble is, it's looking for Generic.dll.
found one from MathWorks/MathLab which does not work - accepted but gives error message using this generic.dll :/


#1) could you download anything from ftp.leitch.com ? i allways get a timeout.

#2) driver guide lists also RealityDriverInstaller248.exe

are u member there, can you look for that?

#1) tested tor browser with different identities - no luck, time out :/

everything with Velocity and Reality - I dont have that card, but Magic will appreciate that.

the two installer you list, would be a start, i can test too.

#1) just installed the driver,I can report installation does work.
many more DPS downloads on that website, so Magic will maybe find something.

I found an original set of CD's and manuals! I hope they have the serial number I need and that the software doesn't need to call home for a ".reg" file. I'll update once I the CD's come in the mail.

one of the updates gave a regsitration window, i just cancel'ed it. install finished.
possible at that stage it would create the later missing generic.dll - after successfully registered.

once this card is working, create a video - demo'ing a bit

I bought a break-out-box from a seller on Ebay.



I asked and luckily they still happened to have the manuals and software. The package just arrived today in the mail



I'll have a go at installing it and report back. I am still trying to decide which OS to use for that machine. I am pretty sure that it shipped with Windows NT 4.0 initially. I have extra licenses of Windows 7, 2000 Pro, XP Pro, Vista and others. Any suggestions since I'll be doing a fresh installation?

I think 2000 Pro will be best choice in this case.
