Commodore A2286 bridgeboard PCspeaker problem

Who has a pc speaker connected to the A2286 bridgeboard header ? It works here but it's overactive. It gives distorted beeps after I press enter giving a doscommand 'till it's executed and for instance while PRINCE is loading. Almost sounds like it serves as a hd-led for blind people/ morse code. Ingame music sounds fine. Really weird.

It happens through the pc speaker that is normally connected to my A3000T motherboard, it happens with another speaker and it happens when I route it through my Soundblaster ... Almost as if it get's a beep while loading command but shut up when a game uses the speaker.

Hi SimonV, I have the A2286 and always wanted to setup a pc speaker as I didn't see it documented in the manual (or have looked in the wrong place). Can you share a pic of where yours is wired up? I will then try hook one up and can compare findings.

I have two versions of this bridgeboard - one with the dallas timekeeper, and another with a seperately connected battery so there could be interesting differences between these two boards potentially.

Hi, it's jumper J2 . In the meantime I found the cause but not solution. I run MSDOS 6.22 and I have an AZERTY keyboard since I am Belgian. As soon as keyboard.sys gets initialized with the BE command it starts. When I comment that line out it's gone.

I wonder if that happens with other people.
