Running Super Cars 2 with recent WinUAEs

Hi there,

I wanted to play my favourite Amiga game, Super Cars 2. Some time ago, I was able to run it with WinUAE, but now it crashes on the start up. Shortly after the "Super Cars 2" logo shows up, ther screen gets garbled and the Amiga reboots.

I still use the KickROM and Super Cars 2 disk images that previously ran successfully. The only things changed were my machine (WinME -> XP SP 2) and the WinUAE version (0.7.something IRC -> latest). I also tried some 0.8 version of WinUAE which I understand is considered the most "stable/conforming" version, but without any luck

Does anyone happen to run this game successfully and can give me a hint how to do it?

Use A500 quickstart configuration setting and most games should work fine.

Really old (especially if they are older than 0.8.17) configuration files are usually very incompatible.

Well, I kind of got it working with WinFellow. Now it crashes after completing the medium or hard level. Again, this did not happen in the good old times with that ancient WinUAE version.

Is there somewhere a more complete archive of WinUAE versions? I'd like to get that 0.7 release and try it again. I don't like the WinFellow handling. Or maybe I just don't understand it yet.

0.7? I should still have 0.7.2 (very rare!) and 0.7.5R1 on HD. Gimme a shout and I'll look it up today evening.
