Using Amiga Hard Drives

Hi all,

I have got a scsi hard drive in my PC and would like to format and install workbench etc on it so i can put it back in my A2000.

When i start up WinUAE, i add the drive from the drop down list of available Hard Drives and try to format it under HDTools.

It tells me that it is an unknown type so i try to change drive type. I try to read the configuration but it tells me it doesnt accept SCSI inquiry commands.

By the way, i have formatted the drive using the tools that come with the scsi card, that was the only way i could get the drive to show up under winuae.

Can anyone tell me how to format the drive with an amiga file system?

You did select uaehf.device and not uaescsi.device?

Hi,

No i chose uaescsi, i have tried it with and without the aspi layer box ticked also.

You must use uaehf.device.

It may be confusing but uaescsi.device and ASPI has NOTHING to do with harddrive support.
