EAB/Lemon Super League 2013: Round 12 Game Vote
EAB/Lemon Super League 2013: Round 12 Game Vote (Special round - Games beginning with the letter D) Starts: 00:01 September 8 Finishes: 23:59 September 21 Rules Full rules are here. Vote for five games. Your first choice gets 5 points, second 4 pts, third 3 pts, fourth 2 pts, fifth 1 pt. This is the vote for the third special round of the season. capehorn won Round 10 and we will only vote for games beginning with the letter D. The top two games at the end of the voting will be played. Remember to choose games suitable for competition play. Edited votes will be discounted (unless told otherwise) so think before you post. Please only vote on one board - either EAB or Lemon. If a game comes in ECS and AGA versions, please state your preference in your vote. In the event the versions differ gameplay-wise, the version with most votes will be played. ECS is the default if you don't specify. The winner of Round 11 will have their vote doubled for Round 12 (i.e. 1st place = 10 pts, 2nd = 8 pts etc). However, because the voting for the next round ends before the current round ends, players must place their votes and wait for the current round to end to see who will have their vote doubled. Tactical or nosey voters can see the Lemon voting thread here. I have a question about Deliverance.
In level 1, you can run in circles, which gives you a much greater score than completing it on the shortest way. This may also happen accidentally to players who dont know the game. How do we handle this? Two possibilities come to my mind: 1. Discard level 1 score by making an additional screenshot at the start of level 2 and subtract this score from your final score. 2. Rank the results by max. level (proven by a screenshot on entering the level), then number of fairies on that screenshot, then lowest score. To make a proposal, use the system we had on Risky Woods: If you have not reached level 2, score is your score. For Level 2 and above, multiply the level by 100 million, multiply the number of fairies by 1 million, add this, then subtract the score (highscore entry has 6 digits) to have a result. Er, sorry to sound so useless but as I haven't really played it I don't think I can really pass judgement. Any ideas anyone...? (Although the thought of another game with problems like this makes me want to run out of the room screaming...)

This is the second time I've had the chance to pick the letter of the round and both times I found it tough to choose. I was thinking of Disposable Hero and Datastorm as personal favourites of mine, with Doodlebug and Dogs of War (neither of which I know) both mentioned in Harry's 'never played in the Supercomp' thread, as well as Donk, which might be a bit long but is a very decent game.
Harry said he thought Deliverance wasn't suitable in the thread I've linked too. |

That was before Risky Woods has been played, which gave me the idea of using a highest level/most fairies/lowest score mechanism. With that I think Deliverance can be played in the competition.

I do agree with you though that it is a good game. I like it anyway. It perhaps isn't the most varied or most attractive game ever but it's pretty playable and there's loads of it and there's very few of the platforming cardinal sins committed compared to some other more high-profile games. |

Voting is over and here's how it all looks...
1. Disposable Hero - 32 2. Dogs Of War - 22 3. Datastorm - 19 4. Dyter-07 - 13 5. Deliverance - 11 Total votes: 16 - Total games voted for: 32 As two games get played in the next round it is not over yet even though D-Hero ran away with it. Depending on who wins the current round, either Dogs Of War or Datastorm will be played alongside it. |
