Having a look at Rooster II now... every time you load the game afresh the values in memory seem to be located in a different place every time. Energy is a max value of 64 though and is ALWAYS located right next to the value for the bullets. It's fair to say I don't really like this game

On real Amiga 600:

R-Type Flashtro is ok on Kick 1.3,
bug collision on kick 2.0.

On WinUAE in A600 emulation no bug.

Are you talking about "R-Type" Hewitson?

Here's the HOL entry: R-Type

...no sign of "Rainbow Arts" anywhere.

It's a Factor 5 game. Produced by Rainbow Arts.

Nope, it clearly says "produced by".

I think that Factor 5 were contracted to Rainbow Arts (certainly most of their game were released through them) and I think that Rainbow Arts allowed Factor 5 to do the conversion for Activision.

I say "allowed", but Activision were going to sue Factor 5/Rainbow Arts for Katakis which was a blatant rip off of R-Type which Activision had just licenced from IREM, and saner minds prevailed because someone at Activision realised that they didn't have anyone to do the Amiga version of R-Type, and clearly Factor 5 proved that they would be able to do it because of how close Katakis was to R-Type, so instead of suing them, Activision agreed to drop the case if they ceased selling Katakis and converted the Amiga version of R-Type.

Yes, I was looking at the HOL entry on the publisher and got messed up. Corrected the error.
