Transwarp & Linux?
Anybody had success transferring ADFs with transwarp to/from Linux?
I have no trouble transferring ADFs back & forth with transwarp & Windows (using ADF Sender Terminal), so I know everything's OK on the Amiga side, the cabling is fine, etc. I believe the Linux side should be as simple as this (replacing ttyX with the appropriate device): cat filename.adf >/dev/ttyX (to send to the Amiga) cat /dev/ttyX >filename.adf (to receive from the Amiga) That appears to work for sending (i.e. it writes 80 tracks to a disk), but the resulting disk is always bad. My best guess is that the serial port is misconfigured somehow (I believe I have the baud rate set correctly along with 8N1 and RTS/CTS, but perhaps something else is awry). So, if you've had success with this, I'd be interested to see the output from "stty -a" for your serial port to see how you've got it configured. Thanks. |

I've myself trying to send files from PC to A500 through null modem cable
I have Debian and I've heard that it is possible to use ADF Sender Terminal through Wine But when I start the program, it says "Port already open" and program's "signal light/send button" is red. If I press it, it repeats the same message. Wonder what may be wrong. I have tried it with null cable connected and A500 set to receive files but it does not change anything. I have already added those symbolic links which should make Wine to work with parallel port Last edited by Cataball; 19 November 2011 at 08:39. |
