A zipped archive of the three Excellence! v3.1 (1993) (Micro-Systems Software) ADF's is in The Zone.

Now, if anyone has a copy of V2.2 of Transwrite by Gold Disk, it would be very much appreciated.

thanks Amiwolf, will give it a go.

And regarding WordPerfect:
https://amigalove.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=117

author makes however the mistake to take the fake v5.0 as an official version.

Anyway, I do remember when buying my A4000 in 1995 in Germany (Hirsch & Wolf in Neuwied), I had a chat with the technician who prepped the machine prior to takeaway, and he had a boxed version of WP sitting on his cupboard, and he himself said that the Amiga platform was doomed as being taken seriously aka "the beginning of the end", the day WordPerfect Corp decided to stop developing WP on the Amiga. I couldn't agree more...

Those with a Vamp can run MacOS 8 under Fusion and use whatever Office suite that was available for it. ;-)
But If you think back, Word and Excel were the killer apps for Windows (v2, v3) which was in most other ways inferior to Amiga OS at the time.
This lack of professional office software always was the Achilles heel of the Amiga. I'm guessing FW97 should be as good as it gets on classic Amigas?

Why not use BeckerText instead?

It's actually a very sensible reply. 99% of documents are in MS Word format. Using anything which isn't capable of loading or saving into that format is absolutely pointless.

well, if one intends using wordprocessor running on amiga, one doesn't really care about compatibility to modern office formats, just like me.
i use wordprocessing on amiga side for special things which won't be shared with anyone, anytime. so i don't give a shit about compatibility.
there is nobody else out there who should be able to read it. noone else must be able to read it. just sole me and as bonus there's nostalgia.

Sometimes I've also used Amiga Writer, and while it's pretty fine program, I still feel more like home with FW97 and keep launching it by default. FW was developed much longer, so it also feels more mature software. If I need some quick good quality printout I always go for FW97.

Why I still use these? Because I mostly create documents and printable material myself, so I don't need mainstream compatibility at home. And I don't want to turn on PCs or Macs just for doing a page or two for printing something, because I mostly use Amigas and compatibles at home. So, perfectly fine for my use and not useless at all!

I prefer Final Writer for obvious reasons

Yes 68K has always and will always be supported. Sadly it's not quite finished so it isn't for sale yet.

i have a question about kindwords 3 which is located in the zone, consisting of 4 disks.
disk 1 (program disk), disk 3 (dictionary), disk 3 (extras), disk 4 (thesaurus)
so one of these two disks 3 is obviously a wrong labelled disk 2 i guess. but which one?
does disk 2 contain dictionary or does it contain extras? what is correct order of disks?

KindWords is a sordid program. If you want to run a word processor from that age, run ProWrite.

//edit: can't use that one, it's in a language i don't understand...
