Improved Lightgun emulation

I will look it today when arrive at home.
I was also trying the amiga lightgun games, and succeed with trojan games, wich trigger is joy2 left, but have no luck with actionware or loticiel games, I think actionware trigger is mouse3 but didn't work for me.
Also tried with Cfou whload versions, which is supposed to give trojan support but I don't knowhow to use the tooltype, where have I to write it?
Also there was the golem lightgun, is it supposed to work As the others like lightpen?Do you know which joy or mouse button is the trigger? I looked in the internet but was not le to find this info

I had some success with amiga lightgun games in Winuae:

Trojan: (This works with cfou whload patches but sadly I think they don't support second gun because of the rare dual gun interface functioning?).
X axis: Lightpen Horizontal
Y axis: Lightpen Vertical
Button 1: Joy2 Left

Actionware: (If you set two guns in Capone for example, gun1 shoots gun1 and gun2 bullets, the aiming is the same for both).
The axis configuration is a bit triky:
X axis: Lightpen Horizontal + Mouse2 Horizontal
Y axis: Lightpen Vertical + Mouse2 Vertical
Button 1: Joy2 3rd Button/Mouse2 Middle Button

Loriciel: Cant make it work. Don't know the port and the trigger.
Fortunately the Westphaser and Crazy shoot can be played with Caprice forever Amstrad emulator.

Golem: Cant make it work. Don't know the port and the trigger.
I tested with Sport and Master of the town, but I'm guessing they can be patched versions with only mouse support?

Could you list games that use those lightguns? Perhaps it is good idea to have common lightgun setups built-in..

Amiga hardware only have lightpen/gun support in single port. External hardware is needed to support more than 1. Did it exist? (Not including ALG system which have the hardware built in)

There's at least the Actionware Dual Gun Adapter. I bought one late last year from the US. I did not test it yet (have a single Trojan only). Would need to dig it out if you need more information/photos.

Actionware Dual Gun Adapter is now emulated.

ALG Lightgun #2 is named Dual lightgun #2 and it supports both modes automatically.

In non-ALG mode first light gun is configured normally (make sure it is configured in joystick port), then configure second lightgun manually using input panel, use Dual light gun trigger #2 as a fire button.

Both guns also have separate lightgun crosshairs now (if not disabled).

Tested with P.O.W. Positioning is a bit wrong, it may need some adjustments.

(Hopefully ALG lightguns still work..)

EDIT: Previous ALG dual lightgun setup may need to be reconfigured.

Actually, I had configured both guns with input panel, nothing is set in game ports panel, and seems to work nice. I don't understand the use of ports panel.

Ports panel lightpen option only works when using standard lightpen config (single button which is mapped to middle button/3rd button line), at least until more ready-made profiles gets added.

do you know anything about golem lightguns? Have you tested any of its games?

on the other hand, that aiming missaligment of actionware games, do you think can be easily corrected? Trojan games have calibration but those didnt

I haven't tested yet.

Vertical misaligment is "impossible" (horizontal can have some small jitter but vertical is 1 scanline accurate) unless actionware gun was really designed to have vertical offset, perhaps due to design of sight?

I guess the only solution is to add config file x/y aligment offsets.

(Perhaps generic/non-ALG lightpen/gun discussion should be moved to separate thread?)

I used to own one of these arcade cabinets as a teenager,
but when I got it, it had been converted to use an ordinary
Jamma PCB. The seller told me the laser disc players in them
wore out quickly. They were Pioneer players IIRC,
but the broken player and disc were both removed from mine.

Mind you all of those CRTs were RGB, and I was the only one
I knew with a 20 inch RGB monitor, and the monitor did function well

You got reason, the aiming in actionware games seems to be near 20px to the right

These games don't seem to be in any usual archives or places.

sport: http://amiga.haller.ch/index.php/ami...e-hunting-1991

now I don't find Master of the town, but It works for me with the mouse, like Sport, and I have read they were only playable with Golem lightgun, so I think they are modified versions to play with the mouse, and lightgun may be disabled.

Game does not do any lightpen reads so either the gun does something that the game can detect (no gun = fallback to mouse). It does read joystick port but it does not seem to do anything with the data.

I am not going to examine this game more.

Hi! I wanted to play some actionwave games, mainly pow and capone, and its a shame the missaligment problem (about 20px to the right), do you think that config file x/y with aligment offsets can be done easily?<br />
My lightguns driver doesnt have commandline, so I can't do pergame calibration
