Hit, I'M not really a techie that much but is it possible for you to try on an actual windows machine running winuae?

I find whatever problem I have with technology take as many thing out of the equation as you can and see if it works. If it does add them back in one by one and then you find what is causing the probs.

Id be very interested to see if you could get this working on Winuae via MIDI

i have a WinXP Pro (SP3) running in a vmware environment. using the very same config as before. changed pathes, etc.
Edit: to prevent confusion, i removed the first test result (was a mess ).

didnt changed anything (030/882 1MB chip, 32 MB fast, kick 2.04, wb 2.0, full ecs chipset), but disabled JIT and enabled "more compatible". and now it works like it should (not sure if its really a JiT problem).
program starts with intro midi (stoped after some notes, but continued after hiting a key on the midi-keyboard).
could start first lessen and it played "ode of joy", steped to next lesson and now i know where i can find notes c, d and e. cool
so it works with the midi device, using a midisport one usb device. installed its winxp driver, choosing midi out/in within winuae. thats it.

OK - one final update after trying this out for a few days for anyone who ever stumbles across this thread in future.

This definitely works with a MIDI keyboard but is temperamental. Thinks like the metronome gets stuck on, sometimes there is sound and sometimes there isn't and there are no sound effects on the games.

If you plug in the miracle keyboard however all the above problems go away as the sounds actually come from the Miracle keyboard speakers and internal sound card..

Now for £30 (time of writing) for the next second best thing to a real piano lesson I think this is worth it. All of us original amigians who were there back in the day probs have a few kids now and they may well want to take up a musical instrument even if you dont. Miracle is still worth every penny and still seems to be essential even if used with winUAE.

Anyone has any probs with this just PM me and Il try to help as best I can.

Mickey

I just threw the DOS version of this software into the zone. I'd be interested in the Windows version if anyone has it.

Hi m8,

I have previously tried the DOS version but could not get it to work as it only sees serial ports and soundcard to MIDI ports as MIDI interfaces meaning there was no way I could get any keyboard to work with it as my mobo has no serial ports. My MIDI interface is USB too.

Let us know know how you get on. Mind to me Amiga v DOS??? No contest haha

Hi jabsy,

I have found a Demonoid torrent containing 'Piano_discovery3.01.iso' CD image for Windows 95/98 (509.75MB), and a patch is available for Windows XP

Rather a big upload for the Zone, wouldn't you agree?

I don't know if this has been covered yet, but I have one of these as well. Mine was the PC version, but as it happens, it also works fine with the Amiga.
I can try to find the PC software for you and image the discs if you'd like. Just PM me if interested. You won't be running through WinUAE obviously, but the software is the same and you'll be on your beloved PC.

welcome.
you can find it on the EAB fileserver: /Commodore_Amiga/TOSEC/Educational/[ADF]/ "Miracle Piano Teaching System ..." 3 disks.

Edit: also found the win/dos version
(dos version link is wrong on website, correct: .... MiraclePianoDisksforDOSvol%201.zip for "volume 1")
