CompactFlash on an A1000 via Palomax?

So I have this Palomax board for my A1000 that plugs into the side expansion port and has an 8-bit ISA slot on it (originally intended for use with IBM PC/XT MFM & RLL hard drive controllers), and I'm wondering if I could use that 8-bit ISA slot to connect a CF adapter somehow...

I suppose if I had an 8-bit IDE controller, I could use that in conjunction with a CF-to-IDE adapter. But the only 8-bit IDE controllers I see on eBay are $200 (which is more than I want to spend doing A1000 hardware tricks). Any other options?

Probably easier (& cheaper) to use a SCSI card instead of the Palomax, right?
There isn't any CF interface/adapter that plugs directly into the side expansion port of the A500/1000 is there?

(Any other suggestions for 8-bit ISA cards that would be fun to experiment with on the Palomax?)

Hi Stet, I believe these sort of side expansion to Zorro cards will take other 8 bit cards however the drivers are hard wired for MFM/RLL...

A cheap and easy way to get CF would be the ide68k which plugs into the 68000 slot...

Here's a link to the info at amiga.resource:
http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/search.pl?company=palomax

(What I've got is the second item listed, the "Hacker's Package.")
