I feel I'm just throwing ideas out and I'm not really putting in any effort, I will try and look at some point.

Someone on Macintosh Garden put this about POP

For those interested in a bit of obscure PoP trivia - if you run the game in Mini vMac under 640x480 resolution you will get the standard "Mac II" color graphics, but if you use the 512x342 resolution you will see the "Macintosh LC" color graphics. The differences are quite subtle, but it appears elements of the game were re-drawn to accommodate the LC's smaller screen resolution (i.e the old 12" RGB monitor). I have provided some screen shots to demonstrate:

Macintosh II (640x480 resolution):

http://userweb.eftel.com/~almeath/mac/MacII.jpg

Macintosh LC (512x342 resolution):

http://userweb.eftel.com/~almeath/mac/MacLC.jpg

The Mac II version is definitely superior in my opinion. The LC version inevitably comes out looking a little bit 'chunkier'. It is most obvious when you look at the character graphics.
whether this makes any difference to performance I don't know.

Damn this Shapeshifter is unstable. Prince of Persia 2 works probably every 3rd time, when it comes to doing sound is the problem.

The other problem i'm having is i'm trying to mount MAC so I have a bridge between the Mac environment in Shapeshifter and the Amiga, but it just doesn't want to work.

i've tried Mount MAC and it just locks file system stuff up on the Amiga side.

I was hoping to be able to copy the files inside the HVF file so I can actually get down to the job of cracking it, but if I can't get the MAC and mac-handler to work then I can't copy the files out?!?!?!

I might be Totally! wrong, you start ShapeShifter Press Amiga key and M? to go back to Workbench then run Mac Handler

I think that's enough of my useless help until I can really spend some time looking at this.

Already tried that, Let Shapeshifter boot, when it goes to display Mac related stuff, switch screens, type in Amiga CLI but nothing ever happens.

Mounting stuff on Amiga should be this problematic.

Yup...

I mean, I've included manuals in both these archives:
Prince of Persia MAC.rar [...for use in DamienD's WinUAE Collection]
Prince of Persia 2 MAC.rar [...for use in DamienD's WinUAE Collection]
...but if you want a save state then I can quickly get there?

There you go Sir Galahad; in The Zone!

...btw, I passed it by trial-and-error / reloading the save state; which wasn't too much trouble.

I know this doesn't matter to you, but the answer to this random protection check was potion "l".

I cant really do anything until I can get this damned mac-handler to work properly so I can copy the files from inside of the HVF file so I can crack them and then copy them back in.

EDIT: OK i've got it to work now!

Weirdly though, the main executable for POP2 shows as 700K+ on the Mac side, but shows up as 0 bytes on the Amiga side, lots of files in the data directory are also 0, but lots of files are also correct. This is stupid!

Blackthorne HFV in The Zone - Depending on the Speed you can set to Low Res Half Screen and set ShapeShifter to 320*256 the OS would be basically unusable but the game should run well

I don't know if extracting the .SIT files and then hacking them is doable?

Anyway; here's links to each game:
Apparently you can extract .SIT file on a PC, see instructions here.

Here is where you can download Stuffit Expander Windows; I've put the file into The Zone! for you though.

I did give it a try; graphics are definitely better than the SNES version

Seems a bit slow though... also watched LanceT's video running on a 68060 CPU and was virtually the same as my setup on a 68040 CPU.

If that's normal then all cool

...I have no experience ever running the MAC version; just seemed slow when walking, changing direction, rolling, or moving up / down ladders.

My system is not the best, I built it in 2011. It does what I need it to do.
I ran the same hd files in the PC version of BasiliskII (with a few more bells and whistles) it seems to run faster. I don't like using the keyboard as a joystick!!!

here is a speed benchmark test also. Like the amiga (mac) emulator, the monitor can not be switched during emulation, resolution can only be set at the beginning.

Looking at your screenshot; what's "Sword of Sodan" like on the MAC?

Thought it was an Amiga only game...
