guys !! just stop the mind blowing...XRGB is the only way to optimize any 15khz display on modern VGA display!! real SCART inputs are very rare on modern displays, ie only composite switch is plugged most of the time. Displays with real 15khz RGB inputs cost gap with standard displays give you the ability to buy xrgb box and solve this issue once for all regardless of your display...there's also a 31khz switch on the box, giving really good results with interlaced modes!!!

I'm using a LCD NEC 1980Xi with a scandoubler and all modes work (520€ on sale six months ago)
Most of LCD monitors won't accept PAL, only NTSC. This one works with PAL too. To top it all, it has 3 video inputs, so you don't need a screen switch as you just have to press a button. This is the perfect LCD monitor for the amiga (if someone is interested I can post a photograph with the amiga running in PAL on it) Analog input for PAL/NTSC/native screenmodes Numeric input for Picasso/gfx board screenmodes The 3rd one is useless since it's for new PCs Before buying a LCD monitor (if you have a scandoubler), check if horizontal refresh can be as low as 50Hz (those are rare, the alternative was outpriced LaCie monitors). Samsung can only accept 56-75 Hz (not KHz) so say goodbye to PAL mode |

Cheers
had tried Amigakit but as you said nowt. I'm using a LCD TV, A2000 connected to the Scart RGB, and the A1200 to the VGA port, not tried to see if it will sink with 15KHz modes but will try this evening. Hopefully the Dragon 1200 wont be delayed tooooo long, as ive got the Radeon 9200, via Ethernet card, SIS based ATA cards etc all waiting to be fitted. |

Instead of a scan doubler / flicker fixer will this work just as well for an A1200:

LG M1721a
Hi everybody. Some days ago i have buyed a new monitor for my PC. My old monitor is now on the A1200 and... i can see all the screens, also the TV resolution, without a scandoubler, only with a VGA adapter. The monitori is an LG M1721a. It has one input selection called RGB-DTV (desktop video) and another called RGB-PC: with the first i can see all the screens. I'm very happy! Sorry for my english: i'm italian.

Sune, we share the same taste in joysticks I think Very nice... a plank with some holes in it is the best. I put my "plank" across my knees, which is very comfy. I'm also on AT.

I'm connecting my Amiga via SCART(RGB) to the SCART input of the monitor (labelled AV1). When I press the "input" button on top of the monitor, I don't have a RGB(DTV) or RGB(PC) option at all! The options I get are: * TV * AV1 * AV2 * RGB What is your exact model, does it say "M1721A-BZ" on the back panel (small writing) or just M1721A? Have you tried the SCART connection? Do you get the DTV/PC options? Thanks for the info |

It seems that "BZ" models don't have the "DTV/PC" option but only RGB, therefore they can't have PAL by VGA connection with adapter as done above (NO SCART CONNECTION). This is confirmed on reading the 2 italian manuals for the 2 models from LG site. Unfortunately it seems you can see the exact model on reading the back panel or outside the packaging only. |

I have a friend who has the same monitor as me (LG M1721A-BZ) and he has both the RGB-DTV and RGB-PC input options, but I only have RGB --- I think we must check all the codes and manufacturing dates of the monitors. Here is my specs: FRONT PANEL: "Flatron M1721A" BACK PANEL: LG Flatron M1721A-BZ Model No.: M1721AH Product code: M1721A-BZH.AEUOLPP Manufactured: June 2008 I will go to his place and check what all the other differences are; this is very interesting indeed. I will post my findings here, when I get any results. Stay tuned edit: there's the extra "H" at the end of the Model No... I wonder if it means "Handicapped"? |

Why not just email LG and ask them about it? I know, they may bery well not be able to answer, but who knows, perhaps they can give a list of specific model numbers?
