WINUAE Problems
OK, 2 things, im hopin someone has came across this sort of thing before (and fixed it)... but... when i run Winuae for the first time it asks to test out the video.. i click yes and "Winuae has generated errors and will be closed by windows".. damnit! im running win2000 with a 32MB Riva TNT2 Ultra and a Dual Processor PII 350 motherboard. any ideas/known issues?
if i click no, this leads me to the second (and more sinister) problem.... i need kick.rom, while looking around it has became apparant that its still copyrighted... doh.... now, i 'own' 2 amigas (all be they broken), surely that entitles me to a free kick.rom??? boooooo to copyright!!! can anyone help me out with this? (cough cough email.. shaven_lunatic@yahoo.com) any help will be mucho appreciated..... thanks |

Now its the sound..
yeah, it runs fine, its a dual processor motherboard, runs better than others, ive tested it against things like 800Mhz machines and it beats the pants off em....
anyway, my original (well, one of them) problem has gone, i extracted my kickstart from my amiga machine... or something i now have a slight problem with sound... its breaking up like hell, if i play doom or something it sometimes is in sync, sometimes about a second behing the video... tried various settings, but as im a total n00b at this, im not sure which are the best settings :/ any tips? |

Have you thought about trying earlier versions of WinUAE or even WinFellow?
I can't say what works or not with NT-based systems, as I am still using '98; but (like others, no doubt) I have found earlier versions to run smoothly and give more stable sound. I'm running a 'lowly' P2-350, so it needs all the help it can get! Oh yeah, and on this meagre system, WinFellow gives great results with many games. If it is compatible with your system, it could be just what you need. Good luck |

I have a P2 350 mhz with 128 RAM, running Win 98, and I get really good, synchronised stereo sound for most, if not all games with Win UAE. I use 8.8 r 7, if that's any help.
And Winfellow is also very good. No probs there either... |

the new version of winuae might sort out your sound problem, i had similar problems like laggy sound, and the new version (v 0.8.8) fixed 'em.
