Sounds good.
But all units I saw in this very box are not PAL-compatible. Maybe it is a new model (I hope). |

FYI it's a Cypress CM-397
They are PAL compatible (288p/576i @ 50Hz) but they automatically scan rate convert to VGA @ 60Hz (to be compatible with more LCD panels) the side effect is the loss of smooth scrolling. They are only 16-bit too. |

@Alexh: are you sure? I saw those units for sell in Japan for NTSC only?!?

They sell them in Australia through a local distributor & store, so presumably they do support PAL.
Price tag for them over here is outrageous though, over $250! PZ. |

Take it apart, wire in an I2C master, change the default values.
