floppy drive cable
just wonderng if i could use part of a ide cable as a striaght 34 pin floppy cable.. just to have greater lengh of course vs the small 34 pin cable that is in side a stock 500. will it work? or would i have to re-wire a normal pc floppy cable?

You could, but why not go to a recycling center and pick up a PC floppy cable for next to nothing. Just use the straight part of it and you're set.
