It's doesn't seem very comparable. Dungeon exploring is done in 3D, and combat takes place on a grid where you can move your characters around and give them commands (turn based, just like Chrono and FF). Otherwise it has the same viewpoint as Chrono and FF. Don't know how learning abilities works (probably not like in Chrono or FF), and the inventory system is quite different.

Hi.
Thanks for patch!!!
Should not be Ambermoon version increased to 1.08 with this patch?

BTW, i would not call "Gryban" experience an bug at all. He was sleeping so long so he forgot a lot of stuff, so he need to learn it again. I didnt have problem with that

The version number is probably in another file. It is an unofficial beta patch so probably don't want to be screwing around with version numbers just yet. First work out exactly what needs to be patched and how. Tidy everything together and then release everything in one go.

Yep, if i have time, i will play it again (patched). No idea how many times i already finish it, 10 times?

I had an original on my A1200 (DE version). I still think Ambermoon is best PRG ever made...

I don't think it's necessary to do so before i touch anything in the code. For now, only data files have been modified.

I thought this could have been the case, too, but now i think it's more likely to be an error. If he forgot a lot of stuff, then he's back to level 35 from his former level 50

As i don't play with him anyway, i didn't even notice he wasn't gaining levels...

Thanls for the patch!!! I want to play with Gryban because of nostalgia. I finished Amberstar with him so he is clear choice. And you can't forgen things when you sleep, only when you are awake

Poor Gryban, i don't use him much in Amberstar either. I replace him after one third of the game or so...

Now i have applied some new patches Alexh sent to me, and i'll have to start over a new Ambermoon game, just to check if everything goes well. After that i may make a release, with my full list of fixes. I don't know when, though...

I wanted to play this compelling game but finally realized I couldn't tolerate the movement engine, whether it's with the cursor keys or mouse-driven. Just too cumbersome. As an earlier poster mentioned, would actually prefer a Dungeon Master or EOTB one-whole-square-at-a-time movement in 2D than this clunky 3D "smooth" interface. If this game could somehow be patched for smooth cursor key or joystick travel I'd go back to it, but as it stands, it's just too frustrating. Even ancient dungeon crawlers like Bard's Tale play far easier with the movement interface than this game. 'Tis a pity. Seems like such a great game but with a horrible way to get from here to there.

Play Amberstar instead?

Never had a problem with it. With WinUAE (and the right settings) it feels to me very smooth with full details. Much smoother than a real Amiga.

You can use 90 degrees movement in Ambermoon. Just use right click instead of left click.

Could someone explain if the version available here: http://thalion.exotica.org.uk/games/...s/credits.html

already includes the patch discussed in the last 2 pages of this thread? Or if I need to apply that patch.

Also, could someone give me an average of hours to complete both games? Ambermoon and Amberstar.

Meynaf, I would like to ask you two questions:
1, Is the content your amb-gpatch.lzx included in recent version of amberpatch.lzx?
2, Would you mind if I make them available for users of www.oldgames.sk (mentioning you as the author, of course)?
Thank you!

If it is this version of the patch :
http://meynaf.free.fr/pr/amberpatch.lzx
then it makes all other patches of mine obsolete and contains everything.

I don't mind if you make that available, of course.
