Where to from here?

This quite a lengthy post so I have put the questions at the top and my details follow -
Things I'm considering
What USB sound adapter to get.
What USB Network adapter to get.
Is it worth getting a USB DVD burner?
Any other USB devices worth getting.
Is it worth getting a 4 Port clock Adapter? if so what to put in other ports.
Would also consider upgrading to an 060, but not sure my card could handle it.
Any worthwhile upgrades beyond what I have?
Current setup
A1200 PAL + KS 3.1 (I mention PAL as I now live in the US)
Apollo 1240 @25 (currently) + 16MB RAM (currently)
Squirrel SCSI PCMCIA + Attached CD-ROM
Gotek
4GB CF
A1200 Bifrost (a bit of bling)

To be installed - I have been collecting.
KS 3.1.4
Black A1200 Case (oh yeah more bing)
Black Kipper2K Keyboard (awaiting delivery)
Indivision AGA - Need to do this very soon as I no longer have a screen that can display 15Khz
RapidRoad (yeah USB!)
68040 @40 - Need to desolder current CPU, and will install a socket
Gotek OLED
4xEIDE 99
4GB DOM

Would like to buy but can't find.
64GB RAM - needs to be single sided, with a single row of chips (low profile)

For those that read this far, thank you for your consideration.

You will need second sim slot installed to have 64mb ram, OR Marmes' 64mb hack https://www.nightfallcrew.com/03/02/...ack-by-marmes/

just get 32mb ram first, it would be easy to find and cheap.

68060 upgrade should work even if it have Mach 130 http://wordpress.hertell.nu/?p=474

I must say, a 40MHz 040 with 16MB/32MB of ram makes a very, very nice Amiga. Don't forget a network PCMCIA card! And also a PCMCIA CF adapter card!

There's the Prelude 1200 / Melody 1200 clockport sound card. Also sometimes you'll see Delfina's for sale in their clockport form.

As for clockport adapters, isn't there a fast serial port adapter available? So you could have fast serial and soundcard on the adapter.

I have used ebays cheapest USB sound card on the rapidroad and it worked. Poseidon is brilliant and will recognise most USB devices inc sound cards. I used the USB card on my a600 with rapidroad attached to the a604n. While it worked on the a600 (and on the clockport of my a1200) it was really flaky and I frequently received NAK timeout errors. I have tried various things such as dedicated DC-DC PSUs and although it helped but did not resolve the problems. It wasn't just a problem with the sound card as I had similar problems with USB ethernet. I ended up fitting my prisma in my a1200 for music and used the PCMCIA slot for ethernet. The usb sound card works perfectly on my x-surf 100 with rapidroad.

I would therefore agree that the clockport prelude would be a better option and there was someone recently on amibay who is making and selling new ones. You would need the clockport adapter if you used the prelude and rapidroad. I have one but have not fitted it as it bumps into the FastATA.
