To be honest I haven't seen a copy of Micro Mart since 1996 when I worked for a company called Solwise. We used to get a full page advert selling modems.

Well I did reside there. It is where I served my apprenticeship... now 12 years ago! Blimey. It was a great place to work. Just like they have now they have a little biog of each staff member. Mine said I was mad about the Amiga but was being forced to the dark side as we sold modems for PCs. They sold me my first 386sx PC...

I buy it now and again if something catches my eye, still one of the better mags I think.

Not many classified ads now cause of the internet, ebay, etc.

You were lucky! I had a look in WH Smiths too and couldn't even find Micro Mart!

Rest easy. mate, you're not going blind. I'm sure I have seen an announcement recently in Micro Mart concerning the Amiga Mart feature. I can't remember the details, but it's likely that it's either been discontinued, is about to be discontinued or will only appear when there are some developments to report.

It was in there last week (still browsing in Smiths ).

Didn't see any announcement in there about it - there was one a while ago saying it was to be discontinued but I'm sure they changed their mind due to demand or something? Or did I make that up?

Will have a look next time I'm out and about.

I thought they were going to keep it -MM has become a bit crap -there use to loads of good system building guides now seems bit borring

Hi Graham,

Yes, it was a while ago I saw that announcement, so it's probably the same one you remember.

I've quickly looked through some recent issues that I still have and there are Amiga Mart sections featuring Amiga Forever 2009, Amiga OS 4.1, Minimig, SAM440EP Flex, Competition Pro joystick new build, Gnash, MindSpace 1.2, SAM Flex 733 and the Amiga North Thames Amiga Revival Fair 2009, so maybe they have changed their mind.

Always read this in Tescos. Still got the Amiga section as of 2 weeks ago. Not caught this weeks one yet.

Forgot to mention...

I checked last week's (I assume it is now the previous issue anyway) issue in Smiths on Tuesday and lo and behold... no Amiga section

Unless it's taking a break (which is probably being optimistic) then I'd imagine that's that which is a shame. No more browsing and annoying everybody in the aisles at Smiths for me

Ah well they lose my "read in the shop" subscription if so, especially if they've got rid of the retro bit too. More fool them. They will have to tell their advertisers that now, drop in revenue.

The retro bit is still there I think, it's just the Amiga section that's disappeared.

I phoned the publisher, apparently it has been reduced to a fortnightly feature.
