idefix

ok YET another problem

got all me stuff needed for hooking up internal cd drive
all connected up

come to install idefix all goes well until the
addidefixatstartup i think it is and just freezes

checked it with snoopdos and comes up read s:startup-sequence and just stops .... checked the tabs and it is writeable so as far as i can see there shouldnt be a problem

VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY ANNOYED PERSON

You're not using a CF card are you? IdeFix doens't seem to like to play ball with a lot of CF cards for some daft reason.

sorted it

installed me hard drive and installed idefix on that and saved the cd0 project on floppy disk ... installed idefix on the cf card as far as it would go reset when crashed and run the cd0 from floppy i did on the hard drive and fired up

if that makes sense

Good to hear you got it working. I had a similarly annoying problem with my idefix express:

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?p=525246#post525246

I could use the 4 way adapter on its own with my CF but if I tried to connect up the express adapter I'd get the software nagging that it couldn't find it or it wasn't plugged in. Replaced my CF with a Hitachi 4GB Microdrive and all is well.... but yes there was lots of swearing and .
