setresult just exits with the given errorcode, but the same could easily be reproduced with type and a file that doesn't exist or similiar.
Looks bad. I'll try to verify.

Actually, literally, it means "already seen", and that's all it literally means.

I cannot verify right now, but I experienced that FailAt level appeared to unexpectedly reset itself to 10 in some one-liners that I wrote in shell v46 the other day. At the time I just worked around it, with the intention to compare against v45 when time permits.

I would argue that anyone who has to regularly reboot without S-S to run a demo has a poor setup. On my minimalistic WB installation it's very rare to have to do such a thing.

Back in the day, I had an A1200 w/Blizzard 1230-IV and a very clean Workbench 3.1 install on a 360 MB 2.5" HDD - no extras, no enhancements. Running 40k demoscene productions required a clean boot, no WB - very few of them would run at all with workbench loaded.

Mostly it was needed to get all the chip ram free and a pal screen to start from. Some demos just failed because of non compatible code (not tested on other cpu's).

Can anyone (preferably one of the 3.1.4 devs) explain the use of the new DiskDoctor? It just examines without doing anything. When copying stuff across while setting up the new 3.1.4 on my HDD, my A1200 GURU'd and now my CF card BAM is kaput.
I need to invoke the "COPY" parameter to copy files from my CF0: to DH2:
There's nothing special on it, but it would help to know what was there so I can re-get all of it again from the various sources. A scan with log would be great if possible.
See attached file. The exact command line string is as clear as a brick wall.
I tried "DiskDoctor COPY FROM DRIVE CF0: TO DRIVE HD2:"
It didn't work and complains about too many parameters.
I'd prefer if the info was known/tested (hence wanting the 3.1.4 devs to respond) rather than a random guess. Since the new 3.1.4 DiskDoctor is totally new there's zero info about how to use it and no examples.... meaning the answer will be useful to everyone in future.
Thanks.

Because there are too many parameters. Remove the both DRIVE parameter and try again. The DiskDoctor template you posted says it.

I came across that before here. Change to the directory you want the files to be copied TO...as in destination. Then use..

DiskDoctor COPY RecoverFrom: TO DirectoryName

Press enter.. All files will be copied to the destination DIR that way. A "fix" for that is in progress...as was also typed in this thread. This is the work-around I found.

I have question regarding 3.1.4 and compatibility. Does Deficons is working for you?

Are you using Amigaos 3.9 with new files from Aos 3.1.4 ?

I doubt that it works out of the box, but put my bet on it working with PeterK's icon.library, with or without the DefIcon binary of NewIcons package.

I'm also using icon.library 46.4.500. On 3.1 it worked fine. On 3.1.4 Newicons and Glowicons works fine but there's no file type recognition.

Os 3.1.4 is closer to OS 3.9 (v45) than to OS 3.1 (v40). So, it needs DefIcons from OS 3.9, not the old DefIcons from NewIcons 4.6. In case that somebody wants to use FBlit with 3.1.4 and ECS/AGA, he also needs the FBlit.cfg for WB 3.5+ and not the one for WB 3.1. That means you can not simply copy 3.1.4 over 3.1 without replacing some other programs too or changing some configs and preferences.
