Hmm I set to your settings and it made window smaller but still cut off bottom! I give up, but thank you for your help! It's probably something else I've broken with the emu. I'm a bit of a novice. Thanks

Want to attach your config and I'll have a look for you?

Edit: are you using Direct3D 11, you might have scaling set in your video card... you could also try Direct3D 9:

I have twice the horizontal and vertical size that you do, DamienD. How did you get the scanlines on the image? I don't see an obvious setting for that.

I was thinking I might experiment with scanlines again, see how they look on the high-end demos. I might even adopt them if I like them.

There are many different ways to set the resolution and then try to keep the correct aspect ratio; what I've set works for me

There are 2 ways to set scanlines:

1) via "Display" but this isn't the best option, don't scale well and are full / darkesk scanlines:

2) via "Filter", this is what I use and you can play with opacity etc:

That wasn't meant to be a criticism, but I was just wondering if doubling the size would double the scanlines. Then again, a scan doubler would do the same thing on a CRT monitor so that you could have the high resolutions and use multiple lines on the lower resolutions - for example, on my SVGA monitor on my first PC, I couldnt help noticing that on a 320x200 resolution, there were two scanlines used for every line of vertical resolution. It made it look good.

DamienD, I have tried Scanline Opacity at 20%, and whilst it looks like a scan-doubled display, it is also a bit darker. How do you get your pictures to look so bright and contrasted?

Are you talking about this image I posted earlier?

No scaling and a 720x576 resolution with double line mode set (as per WinUAE "settings" images I posted)...

Scanlines are set at 50% opacity for 98% of the 2480+ games in my collection and 2% at 25% opacity. The above is 50% opacity...

Yes. I liked the look of the scanlines in this and wanted to try them again on my own configs. The attached picture is an example of the scanlines I'm using, but it's twice the lines, which looks like I'm using an Amiga on a VGA CRT monitor with a scan doubler. Is that how it would typically look on real hardware? I hope so.
