Zany Golf!

Did a longplay of Zany Golf over the weekend. It's the IIGS version, but gameplay is identical to the Amiga. For those that haven't it played it, it's one of the very best miniature golf games of all time, so go d/l it if you don't have it already

Here's my longplay/review: [ Show youtube player ]

Very nice video Castelian. I love this game but that pinball hole.... I HATE IT. Its very hard to get momentum on the ball I find.

I'll test Zany Golf ton8 on my IIGS as I just installed the CFFA3000 on it full of software/games.

Do you know if the HD files on whatisappleIIGS site contains all the games ever made for the IIGS?

A CFFA3000, nice! Mine is being shipped out this week. So excited. The HD files on whatisappleIIGS contains all HD-installable games that are currently freeware. Games like those owned and copyrighted by Softdisk are still commercially sold if you can believe that. Also, there's about 20 or so games that I like that require a floppy disk so they're not part of the HD images such as Sensei. But CFFA3000 will do away with that now, so you can just add to those HD images with ciderpress (or manually add to them).

The musical score itself is genius but i really don't like how the music sounds on Apple2. I don't think it's just difference either. Obviously we're not hearing it direct but still it definitely lacks kick- like most of the instruments are played on a jazz organ. Surprising if this was the first version then because the Amiga version is delightful. Are there any mp3's out there i can listen too

Yeah, I like the Amiga version too. From a technical standpoint, the IIGS had more simultaneous instruments playing, but the Amiga sounds like it has more bass and rhythm than the IIGS version. Either way, I'll take IIGS or Amiga's version over DOS
As far as the soundtrack, I'm sure someone has ripped the title song at some point.

Smart little game though either way on Amiga or Apple and one that i used to enjoy playing with my dad fairly often. The music made it just that bit more special though i think than the game itself which was still fun enough

The version included In whatosappleiigs hard file is not working in my IIGS.
I see the black screen and copyright text no more.
I think I heard a sound like maybe error sound.
DOn't know if it's the cffa or corrupted file.
Do you know if you can copy files between the USB and CF from within the CFFA3000?

I would think you can copy from the USB to CF, but again, I haven't received my CFFA yet. As far as Zany Golf not working, that is weird. I would make sure you have all the tools from system 5.0.4 and 6.0.1 in your system tools folder. I've had games glitch out on me in the past for missing a single tool.

I finally got my CFFA3K as well and can confirm Zany Golf does not work with this card. Someone else reported this on VG and the solution is... type 2000G on the screen once it crashes. You may have to do it twice, but that fixed it for me. Quirky, but it works

Good to know I was starting to think that my memory card was not working. Is Rastan Saga working for you? (whatis2gs file) For me it seems to hang at the arcade cabinet screen.
Is a fix from Rich in the pipe?
Thanks
Kamel

PS VG? You meant VC?
