Any good 1942 conversions?

Yesterday I tried 1943 on my Amiga - what a lousy conversion of a great arcade game. Is there any better stuff available? Doesn't have to be a perfect clone just something similar.

Looks great but is probably a bit tough for my old A500

It's far too tough for the a500 considering Banshee requires minimum an AGA machine

This way to the vertical shoot 'em ups. SWIV is about the only one I can recommend highly.

Other than that you could always steal someones PC and play the originals via the MAME arcade emulator.

I'm already working on getting MAME in my arcade cabinet but the PC is still a bit touchy. Hence I put my A500 in there until everything works as intended. It does quite well, but I'm still looking for some decent shmups. However, some games on this list look quite promising and I hope they're not as diappointing as 1943.

Try Battle Squadron http://hol.abime.net/72 or HYBRIS http://hol.abime.net/767

Great stuff.

SWIV is a great game, I used to play it all the time on my CDTV in the 90s I've yet to try it on the 1200T I've just built.

Great game, check it out
