What is the reason to add "v1.0", i cant see and cant find such a versions number, there is a versions number hidden, but its "v1.40".

If i remember corrrectly 1.0 did not have the pass back rule. The new version put this rule in to make it realistic.

Ok, i try to understand:
If there is a version "1.1" for example, then you can call "Sensible Soccer" as
"Sensible Soccer v1.0", although there is not really a proof for the existence of this version number, as i have said, i cant find such a versions number.
@HOL-Team please,please explain me!

I think v 1.0 was added by players after other versions (1.1,1.2) had been released.

Edit - it would be more confusing with "Sensible Soccer" without 1.1 imo

This should answer the question. Check the SPS images.

Why, because SPS team named their release "v1.0"?

It's not v1.0? You haven't mentioned the SPS dumps.

Edit: True. Just checked the preinstalled WHDLoad game. It's 1.40 07/06/92.

Correct, this is what i have found too.
So, what is the reason HOL and SPS-team?
Maybe there is such information in the manual, boxscan or diskscan, but not in the gamecode.

Edit:

This should be version 1.1. The internal game version number has nothing to do with it. So the v1.0 name is correct imho.

The funny thing is that 'Sensible Soccer - European Champions v1.1 (1992)(Renegade)(M4)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr Ministry]' has the string 'Version 1.10 26/10/92' in it. Younger, but a smaller version number. Guess just calling the first game 'Sensible Soccer' without the 'v1.0' would be more appropiate.

Yes, the first version has no v1.0 in the title screen, but v1.1 has. Should be clear now. The internal version number is strange, but it's not confusing after all.

Just to add a bit more fun, here are the version strings from the whdload versions

Version 1.40 07/06/92
Version 1.10 26/10/92
Version 1.1 (V1.80) 16/11/92
Version 1.2 World Cup (V2.00) 20/04/94

Then its a "Pseudo" version number, not really a proof.
By the way there are SPS releases of other games with higher versions numbers than v1.0 and the same game has no "v1.0".

It's a proof for everthing < = v1.1. The 92/93 update has v1.1 in the title screen. So it's OK to use v1.0 for the first Sensible Soccer game. It's not necessary, but OK.

I've removed the "v1.0" from the HOL entry.

Probably a good decision, how about removing this real important error:
