AWeb APL Lite Released
AWeb APL Lite: New version of the famous Amiga Browser, these are the news: Adds support for AmiSSL 4, and is compiled with gcc 5.4 And AWebJS has support for sending ARexx commands to a host, so you can use it as a standalone ARexx replacement. See the tests in the src directory for example code. AWeb is a fast standards complient (by that I mean it complies to the standards it supports, not that it supports all standards...) HTML4.01 browser for AmigaOS. It has a powerful AREXX based scripting engine, and in local mode can execute commands from with html pages. This makes it very suitable for a documentation viewer, or GUI for a scripts etc. AWeb APL Lite 3.5.12: Download LICENCE This software is released under the AWeb Public Licence, please read the file apl.txt included in this archive for more information. INSTALLATION AWeb 3.5 may be installed by using the Installer script provided. It is recommended that you back up any previous installations of AWeb or install in a separate directory, but actually there should not be any real problems. @grelbfarlk:
Tried a few years ago with a somewhat older version. However, since the initial open sourcing of AWeb, most of the SAS/C support has been removed for no apparent reason, so it was going to be far too much hassle. Maybe some GCC user can try. Last edited by Minuous; 24 March 2018 at 08:57. |

I tried compiling with Bebbos gcc 6, no luck either.
The AWeb code seems heavily dependent on OS4. |

Then this is more of an OS4 fork of AWeb than actual AWeb.

Just poking at this now. I have my A1200 with an ACA1230/28 64M RAM.
AmigaOS 3.2.2 I have AWeb 3.4 APL Lite and that works (but of course no SSL) I installed AmiSSL 4 and then AmiSSL5. Then I installed AWeb APL Lite 3.5.09 (But I had copied the 3.5.091 version from Aminet over; although I tried going back to the normal 3.5.09 and that does the same). I can launch the program. It should the AWeb startup page. But when I go to try to load any website, it crashes. Getting this error after a page has been loading for a bit On Aminet, I got some text, but before the images loaded, it crashed: Software Failure AWeb Program failed (error #8000000B). Wait for disk activity to finish... When I try to go to an SSL site, the SSL appears to work, in that I see connect message and the page load progress bar progresses. Sometimes I get messages about accepting cookies, etc... I'm wondering if it is a problem with rendering images? Ah! I turned off image loading and Aminet loaded... And this site crashed with no image loading, so that might have been a fluke. Thoughts? Expected with this version? Thanx |

Usually seen when trying to use FPU software on a system without an FPU.
Try installing the 68000 version: https://aminet.net/package/comm/www/AWeb-3.5.09-68000 Then add 3.5.091 again... |

I had used the version from Aminet that the .091 info page said to use, and was then copying the 68000 version of the AWeb program over. What I did was extract the one you linked over the install I had (which was a full install), which overwrote multiple files... Then I copied just the AWeb.000 from the .091 archive over... Crazy slow (totally expected), but looks to be working (at least the first page I went to) I've thought about adding an FPU to my 1200 mainboard, but wasn't sure that would work with the ACA1230/28 I have... And also now I am considering a PiStorm32 at some point, which would make the risk of me trying to solder that socket onto my mainboard silly. ;-) Thanx. |
