All seems to work without a hitch here.
I upped StingRays latest WHD demo to FTP without any issues not so long ago. |

Seems the "link" URL in the main post pointing here: http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=...&postcount=780
does not work. =) |

Fun little function that I plan on expanding on to get all kinds of fun facts. Right now, it can only show latest uploads.

Having some trouble with the FTP here, am I doing something wrong or is this a fault on the actual server?

@TCD. Thanks, could you recommend a decent FTP client, I'm somewhat of a simpleton when it comes to this.

FileZilla is pretty easy to use: https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client
Just check the first post for the login details and enter those at the top of the FileZilla window. Then you have your PC on the left and the FTP on the right. If you have a question, don't hesitate to ask. |

Now that we have a massive patch amount of 2 years worth of TOSEC Updates from early 2012 - early 2014 is it about time you guys added and merged the contents in by now of those update zips to the main Tosec set before?
I think so that we only have to get what games we want and not be forced to grab a massive file of repeat games that the update zips should be limited to a year but then be added to the main Tosec folders and a new years of zipped updates starting the folowing year will go to the updates section. Seriously it's time to get those old 2012 single filed versions updated to have the 2013 upgrades and the rest of 2012 within it so we can get what we want. Zipped is great for those who want a full collection with multiple of the same game but then there are guys like me who only wants the best version of a disk and no multiples at all which is kinda hard to get if your version of single files to find the best one is 2 years behind everybody elses I want every dump edition collections including the junk dumps versions of the updates. I like the choice of being able to grab the best version rather than being forced a probably broken version in a zip file that takes a minute to an hour to download whilst a single file takes 1 second or so only. |

edit: does the backup of "The Zone" takes place regularly? does those backups go also into the eabsearch index? edit#2: this is working - the "missing" files arrived on the fileserver in the zone folder Last edited by emufan; 12 February 2014 at 19:29. |

Hi:
I've made an icon for Magellan that clicking it opens the EAB file server. I would like to add it to AmiKit Real. What do you think? Last edited by Retrofan; 19 February 2014 at 20:45. |

Thanks Prowler . So it's perfectly doable. The thing is that there isn't much interest that I would need, so I won't include it by now.

I should warn you that what I have shared with you is only my personal thoughts and opinions.
Thanks. Naturally, the decision regarding EAB's standpoint on this will rest with TCD, as Moderator of the EAB file Server. |

As long as the link goes to this thread and isn't directly connecting to the file server without mentioning the few rules we have for it, it's fine with me. I'll PM you a bit more lengthy about it tomorrow

The icon I've made uses a capability of Magellan to connect easily to ftp's. It just uses the info of the first post of the file server:
¨host: grandis.nu port: 21 user: ftp pass: any password will do¨(EAB I am ussing), that is already saved on the icon, so it opens with a click on it, that's all. And it opens directly the first page with the directories. Perhaps you could put the rules there in the directory, or better to add an Startup Message to the ftp (my connection process searchs for it). Anyway I can't include it with AmiKit. Edit: Perhaps if I get TCD's permission I could post the icon for Magellan. And I haven't made anything important. It's Magellan that makes all. Edit: It's courious. When I open the FS with IE I don't see any readme message but the Welcome. Opening it with Magellan I have a file "README BEFORE UPLOAD". That could have the instructions inside, instead of the message to open an http. Last edited by Retrofan; 20 February 2014 at 10:22. |
