Nope. There is compatible hardware (USB Bluetooth dongle) and compatible hardware drivers (Poseidon bluetooth.class) but no software stack and no apps.

No interest whatsoever. If you want bluetooth... use a PC/Mac!

@alexh
Sure.. I do understand your opinion.. but still, I think we all Amiga/Efika/Pegasos/Sam/whatever users 'd need bluetooth devices and drivers... ;-) |

I find it hard to believe the users of these platforms do not have another main computer which has bluetooth.
Do you not think it is masochistic to try and use such technology on the Amiga? There are well established working alternatives to almost any bluetooth device. If bluetooth were a technology which offered amazing benefits, access to lots of unique devices, things that would really enhance the Amiga experience then I might see it as a challenge to be overcome. However it just seems stupid to me (and obviously all other developers seeing as there is no stack) to spend months developing software that offers virtually no benefits. Engineering: right tool for the right job. |

Bluetooth is so 2003!
Seriously, though, I didn't think it was used for computers anymore. Just for mobile phones and headsets. Steve. |

As an Amiga user I would like to be able to connect all types of technology like mobile phones or PDA´s that normally benefits from bluetooth, so I think that if someone developes software for bluetooth (as I don´t know how to make that) its great.

Mobile phones can be connected via USB and so can PDA's and you have to have USB to use a bluetooth dongle... doesn't make sense to me!
It's not like you've got any applications either. |

Although I maintain that AmigaOS on good hardware (Amithlon?) is still a pleasant / useful day-to-day OS I've got to admit pretty much everything I do with it is based on 'wouldn't it be cool if...' rather than 'I need...'.
BlueTooth on AOS would be cool to have but I don't miss it - TBF the computers I have that are BlueTooth capable all have it switched off. It's a technology for which I've never found a use: -I don't like mobile phones, so the one I have (because work requires I have one) is so old I can't even text on it. -I don't own a PDA - prefer my tablet PC. -Other potentially BlueTooth stuff I have is quite happy talking faster via WiFi / USB... So, if there was BlueTooth, I'd have it - something else to plug into my miggy. Ok, rambling again... |

I have a PDA with USB broken and I only can connect it via Bluetooth. My mobile phone conects via bluetooth too because the usb cable cost about €40 and have a Wireless GameKeyboard with trackball that I liked to be able to connect in my A1200. If there will be drivers and software for all of that I will be very happy

Two very strange exceptions (which I think you made up just cos you wanted an argument!)
All phones come with USB cables as standard these days... how old is your phone? |

@Thread:
Bluetooth has been a bit of a failure IMO. Too tricky to pair up, not intuitive enough when used in Windows. @cosmicfrog: What model phone is it? |

I use Bluetooth all the time, Sony Ericsson ports on the fone side are crap, sometimes can spend an age trying to jiggle the USB cable to connect properly.
I don't use USB on Amiga so it makes no odds to me, but if someone wants to add Bluetooth support to Amiga, fair play. Initiative and enterprise shouldn't be snuffed out |

No, but it should be steered towards worthy causes
Wireless USB is just about dead. We were developing a wireless USB hard drive but consumers indicated that they'd rather have wires and high speed. USB3 is out in 6 months. Last edited by Graham Humphrey; 22 August 2008 at 17:17. Reason: Back-to-back posts merged |

I don´t desagree in that there are better things the amiga users are missing over bluetooth but what I think is that if there is a possibility to use bluetooth in amigas software for that is wellcome.
