How to mod a PC serial mouse for Amiga use

Does anyone have the instructions on how to mod a standard PC mouse (serial - 9 pin, of course) for Amiga use? (Above all, is that possible?? )

Any Links\suggestions\links to old threads are welcome!

that's impossible...
however you can connect the serial mouse to the serial amiga port using any 25>9 pin adapter and you can use the mouse on workbench and workbench'friendly apllications...but not on games
also you need a driver...you can found it on aminet

Look at aminet! There you'll find a lot of drivers for those mice.

Just a remark: why do you want to use one? They only will work on Workbench!

No way to modify it to Amiga standard. Only old bus mouse is passive of modification.

You are better off making the PS/2 PIC adapter project, so that you can add a PS/2 port to your Amiga; the details are on here and on Aminet.

How come impossible? I am sure back in the 1990's I had a 3rd party serial mouse that had a switch on the bottom marked "PC" and "Amiga"

Are you sure?

Those old mice came with a switch to toggle Amiga/Atari (at least I had one like this, once upon a time).

Would have been a Naksha mouse, switchable between Atari ST and Amiga

I think you and Rkauer are right because I can't find any reference short of a bit of hackery. Nurse, pass me that spoon, the blunt one.
