I never install software/drivers for my mouse or the gamepads, the windows USB detection is enough for me. You could try this.

or try JoyToKey to map your pad to keypresses first. I always used this and JoyEmu on 98 to play Turrican 1! It allowed my to map all the extra keys to other buttons including jump!

Yep, it's a nice software. I use it mostly for games/emulators without gamepad support.

I use it on web games and emulators too! Very handy. Have to admit, I used it with Fellow really not WinUAE. But if the Joypad is not configuring in WinUAE maybe this is a botch but still a solution!

Yes, I was just going to post about Joy2Key too.

Incidentally, my Gravis gamepad has two analog sticks and a digital pad (its like the PS2 pads) and a switch to turn the analog sticks on or off. The digital pad is only detected properly under most games and emus when the analog sticks are turned on, very odd.

winuaebootlog.txt please (but it seems your pad driver is broken, button text comes directly from driver)

btw, make sure you do not have any other input device active in same port. Input-panel has no restrictions..

btw2, 99% of key mapping utilities won't work winuae.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions

@Toni: no other input device is active in the same port.

Driver button strings are really broken but fortunately it is just a name (ID numbers looks ok), it is not used internally anywhere.

WinUAE has debugging feature for input events but I am not sure if it helps in this case..

- run in windowed mode
- start emulation, do not insert any disks etc..
- press SHIFT+F12
- type "dj 1" (without "'s) and press return
- type x and press return

Now you should see all input events in console log window.
