Police Quest 3 Help!

I'm at the last remaining step in Police Quest 3

When I go down into the basement of the fortified house, I shoot the guy down there. My partner comes down, says she hates me, then shoots me

What have I done wrong?

I looked at a walkthrough and it says another officer was supposed to come down and shoot her first, thus completing the game, but I have no idea how this may be done.

In case it matters, I'm using a Skid Row cracked version of the game. Possibly not cracked properly?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

You must first ask the captain to get her investigated by Internal Affairs. First, use a copy of her keys on her desk drawer. A copy can be made by going to Zak's key shop on Day 4 and giving him the key. The combination to her locker can be found in the drawer.

Next, use the combination to unlock her locker and you'll discover coke in it then report your findings to the captain.

You'll have no problems with the officer not there.

Thanks Exodus for replying, but I managed to figure it out about half an hour ago

There is one vital step that everyone neglects to mention. You must note down in your book before you visit the captain

Hopefully anyone else who missed this one step read this thread
