I never really said hello!

Hey guys,

I never really said hi, I just jumped straight into the Blitz forum

I'm from Worthing in Sussex in the UK, and a bit of a retro gamer (have little interest in anything much newer than the PS2/Nintendo DS) so my loves are not just the Amiga. (I can count the SNES, C64, Playstation 1 & 2, Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS as part of the systems I still actively play games on, apart from the SNES which I use a SNES Mini for, they're all the real hardware.)

Back in the day I was using the Amiga equally as a productive computer these days just like playing old games, working away in Deluxe Paint III and coding in Blitz BASIC

I only have an Amiga 600 now but it suits me fine as I like the older stuff.

My dream is to program a killer JRPG for the Amiga that shows what it could have been capable of back in the day (if you had like 25 double density disks to distribute the game on mind haha.)

Ciao!
Vicky

Hi Vicky and welcome to EAB.

I never got into programming on the Amiga but its good to see what other folk managed to do and still do for it, now is the time to have the real hardware as there is so much in the way of upgrades available (or soon to be) for so many different systems. I must admit that I don't tend to play with my stuff at the moment, I go through phases so I should be playing again with my Amigas very soon

Good luck with your dream, it is amazing what ordinary folk can do, just think of Kipper2k and many others

Thanks for the welcome! There does seem to be but having had stacked out Amigas in the late 90s I'm purely enjoying my A600 for what it is. I added another meg of chip RAM and a 4GB compact flash but otherwise it's just going to stay a standard ECS, 68000 machine, although things like the Vampire look seriously impressive. For me, running Deluxe Paint III and playing old games is all I need

Welcome to EAB, your dream is impressive and should make an impact when you complete it.

Incidentally, kipper2k isn't no ordinary person, he is a GOD! He should be called Brain not Brian. Super Brain!

Anyways Vicky, I am sure your contribution to the Amiga scene shall equally be as impressive as kipper2k, for many different reasons.

Keep us posted on your progress!

chip you are back !! You have been slacking on recent new member introductions. I mentioned this on another introduction, someone thought you might of been on holiday/vacation?

It is not like you, not to be first to introduce!

Oh gosh thank you MigaTech, nothing like being set up for a big fall I'm patient so the fact it may take some time to realise what I want to do doesn't phase me!

Thanks Akira! We definitely didn't, this is why I loved the SNES, but even in the PAL region we never got enough of the JRPGs! Still we did have Zelda - A link to the past and Secret of Mana.

Sorry Vicky. Although I do not think you shall fail, certainly not with the attitude you have.
