Greaseweasle: I want to image some original games!

Pretty much as per thread title!

I have a pair of Greaseweasle adaptors, V4 and F1.

I am using the GUI and I want to image some games from a personal Amiga 500 that has been with our family since day one! I recently found it again after it was stored away safe.
There are only four games that were in the pack from new and I know they exist already as IPF's.

But I want to save these particular disks:

Night breed
Back to the Future
Shadow of the Beast 2
Days of Thunder

Tbh I need an idiots guide on the subject! I have been happily reading all sorts of unprotected disks as and when so things work, I just keep getting stuck when it comes to protected stuff.

Tia.

I tried NightBreed the Interactive Move:

ADF = No Go
HFE = It made one, but I don't know how to use them
SCP = It made one, but it only works when emulating a 1200 ?
Just like the IPFs I found.

ADF = no way, the game is copylocked.
HFE = To be read on Gotek

IPF are the best deal (size of files).

With Greasleweasle, choose SCP or Kryoflux.

For kryoflux, for later encoding with Disk-Analyse from Keir Fraser, use this script i made for Amiga :

https://we.tl/t-84nr0HyLcf

Then search the thread here for disk-analyse, then convert the dump to IPF.

I have Greaseweazle V4 and wanted to a ask question in regards to what you mentioned above:

If I want to create my own IPF's out of my retail disks, is it better to convert them from Kryoflux RAW as opposed to an SCP dump? If so, what are the reasons? Also, what does the script do. Thanks a bunch.

Yup:
IPFs = 1 MB
HFE = 1.95 MB
SCP = 40.8 MB

Asks a bunch of questions about the game you're dumping and sets the right parameters for Greaseweazle to dump the game so you can use disk-utilities to make IPF's if the game is supported. You can also use the current Windows binaries of disk-utilities compiled by acd2001

Excellent advice guys

I will give this a shot! but when I first tried I failed at the very start.
I am unable to even create the disk image, I will note down what is happening and post it here. Maybe I have not set things up 100%...

Hi guys,

Just reading up on some GW threads, as I'm fairly new to it all. I have the basic functionality working great. Just wanted to know the best way of ripping original disks. It seems ElectroBlaster has asked the same thing.
From what I can gather:
1) I rip the file as a Kryoflux Raw (I use the Windows GUI of GW)
2) I then use the disk analyse tools - which seems to be a command line program, which will use parameters from a database file and convert the Raw file to an IPF that helps with the copyprotection/disk format.

Im basically trying to rip a copylock protected disk to IPF to test on emulator, and then write back to a blank floppy.
Working IPFs that I can find online dont seem to write back to floppy correctly. I just want to test one of my originals, to see if the copy I write back to floppy behaves the same way as my original does through WinUAE.
If that make sense !
Any examples of how to use disk-analyse would be great - or any help at all really !
Spoke to Keir a few times. What an awesome dude & piece of kit
