Custom made Rom building.

Hi all.

Right I've got my head into building a custom OS3.1.4 rom for my A600 Furia.

Been playing with Doobry's Remus and Romulus.....building the Rom images...(.rpf) files....and have a few questions....

1...to burn the Rom in my TL866/adapter do I have to "biteswap" the rom build ?

2...I have Maprom feature on the Furia...if I use this does it override the onboard rom ?

Thanks all

Mark

the software with the TL866 does not have an option to byetswap so you need to do put the ROM file in another app and do it that way.

here is how to use it to byte swap, I will put the software in the ZONE so download it from there

install it then:
1, select your device(your Eprom chip)
2.load your file
3 under the `Action` tab select `byteswap`
4. save your new file(its now byte swapped)

if you get errors when running the software dont worry just carry on its just when its loading the program( I use win 8)
also you might have to use ctrl alt del to close the program

In Remus choose Image Type: "Byte swapped" instead of "Normal".

Correct, Intel cpu's x86 uses little-endian, 68k/PowerPC is big-endian so you have to byteswap burning on a windows/intel machine.

If you've got access to a Linux/MacOS machine, the following command will do the byte swap for you:

dd if=INPUTFILE of=OUTPUTFILE conv=swab
