Urrgh! they've gone Gooey!!

http://s277.photobucket.com/albums/k...Sticky%20bits/

Just giving one of my A1200's a cleanup and replace the HD that keeps whrring up and down but never boots.

When I picked up the miggy it was stuck to the table..

the 4 feet are in various stages of gooeyness..

imagine the most sticky goo you can think of and you are getting close... only acetone seems to touch it!!

Anyone else come across this .

plus still got to get the remainder off the case. and then find some replacements ??

Autoglym Intensive Tar remover is very good for sticky stuff.
Watch out though, remember the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles? They went from baby turtle to Ninja's when they came into contact with a strange glowing ooze!

I remember when sony had to recall digi boxes (iirc), cause the rubber feet would have a chemical reaction to some plastics in tv's.
They would eat into the top of TV, lol.
