Don't worry, I have fixed all five parts f-PG5a.lzx to f-PG5e.lzx of the floppy disk version of the archive. I just need to wrap the whole lot up inside an LHA archive before I upload a fully working replacement for your file.

I just tried Ancalimons latest version 5. Works great in Winuae. Judging by the 1999 date, my unreadable CD once contained version 4. The program is much updated from version 2 which is what I've got on my A4000. A thousand thanks Ancalimon

I replaced your Photogenics_v5_0.lzx archive with Ancalimon's Photogenics5.lzx archive after renaming it and matching the date and time stamp and attributes.

Next, I split his file into five parts to match those in in your f-PG5?.lzx archives and LZX compressed those to make new data to paste into them, replacing the corrupt data. Then I reset their time and date stamps and attributes.

Finally, I assembled the new files into a new directory on my Amiga and LHA compressed the lot into a new archive.

I adjusted the time and date stamps in the File Header Blocks using DiskMonTools and recalculated the checksums.

Yes, but it won't take so long if I get a similar task. I already knew about the composition of lzx archive headers, and I took this opportunity to learn about lha archive headers too, so next time I can simply paste the replacement code straight into the lha archive and fix the checksums without re-archiving everything and having to reset all the time and date stamps and attributes.

Not really. The large file in the archive is identical to the one you uploaded and the five smaller files contain a version intended for floppy disk distribution, derived by splitting your file into five chunks, bundling each with a File_id.diz and fIRE-Photogenics5.nfo files and recompressing the lot to fit on an 880K floppy. The end result is the same when you get the files over to your Amiga.

This is bitchin' guys Used to have only V1.something Ace

I made a disk compatible archive of V5.121 with the assign issue fixed, and uploaded it to the zone. It contains separate LZX files for the docs, tutorials, Photogenics data and the Photogenics directory with executable.

The software fits on two disks, and the docs+tutorials fit on one disk.

Extract the LZX files with full path to the directory you're in. Done

Files needed for two disk install:

data.lzx
photogenics.lzx
photogenics.info

@ Thorham and prowler

I don't understand: were the assign issues present in the original program distribution?
Or are they a result of a bad "repack" from some pirate group?

Don't know, but they were present in the archive ancalimon uploaded to the zone.

Basically, the software tried to assign something to OpenURL/Libs and OpenURL/L in the Photogenics directory. I just fixed it by making these directories and sticking an empty file in each.

Prowler: The self contained Archive within your latest LHA upload works fine, but when I try to launch the version that is contained within the multiple LZX files, it says it is loading, but then never does. This behavior is the same on Amiga OS 3.9 as it is on MorphOS.

Have you tried the zip archive I uploaded to the Zone? It's updated to the latest version and has the assign issue fixed. If zip is a problem for you, I can repack it with something else.

EDIT: Missed the OS3.9 and MorphOS thing; zip probably isn't going to be a problem...

Have you first extracted the contents of the f-PG5?.lzx archives? You will find they contain f-Photogenics5.lzx.0? files, which must be concatenated in the order .01 to .05 and then you will have a binary equivalent of the Photogenics_v5_0.lzx file. The partial archives are only meant to be transportable on Amiga floppy disks. They will give you the same result as the full archive when they are extracted and joined in the Amiga environment.

Hey, guys. Been looking for Photogenics 5 for Amiga and came across this recent tread on the good ol' EAB. I take it that files on The Zone are only there for a short time. Could I trouble someone to put Photogenics back up so I can snag it? Thanks!

Sure, it's back in The Zone for you.

(This is the latest zip archive version originally uploaded by Thorham and described above.)

Thank you, prowler and Thorham! I'm about to learn how well Photogenics will work under AOS4.1.
