Cool A600 kickrom 37.300 and Hard-Drives

Hello fellow amiga users!

I have bought a new a600 and to my surprise it already had a 1mb expansion board in !

So I was thinking about buying a 2.5" HD for my miggy, but i've heard that kickrom 37.300 only supports up to 40mb HD's but ive also heard they can take any.

So what can i actually do with a 37.300 kickrom??

Thanks in advance

P.s You like my new avatar?

37.300 is fine with anything up to 4GB. You're thinking of the version released just before, which had a bug that limited the drive size to 40MB.

No, 37.300 is limited to 40 MB. With some luck, bigger hard drives may work... 37.350 is the bug-free one.

Oh, my mistake. Odd; I've had two 37.300 A600s, and both have worked without problems with every drive I've tried.

My A600 with 2.05 37.300 works just fine with a 2.1GB HD. Not sure what the other fixes are but I've yet to experience the 40MB limit.

I suppose that if all things fail, you could softkick a more recent Kickstart-version.
