A1200 and high density floppy
Hello, I buy from ebay an A1200 for restore some files saved in double density floppy disk from A4000, but the A1200 can't read the hd floppy, if I try to format a new dd floppy I can format only 880k.
I think the floppy drive mounted is not the A1200 original, right ?

The standard floppy drive in an A1200 can only read/write 880K. HD floppy disks @1.44MB will only format as a regular 880KB amiga disk

If I mount the A4000 drive on 1200 I can read hd floppy ? |

Hmmm, gonna need someone else to answer that. I believe you will need to install some drivers to allow it to understand the format for the HD floppy, i'm not sure

I try to install my old floppy drive from A4000 to A1200...

Greetings,
I have both a HD and DD in my B2000 and they run quite happily, the system recognizes both without having to worry about drivers etc. Paul |
