T4060 68060 accellerator and heat

My T4060 did not come with a heat sink or fan. Does the 68060 get hot enough where it requires a fan to keep it cool? I have read many posts and some say yes and some say no.

If it needs a fan does anyone know the size and type of fan I need and where I can buy one?

Thanks!

officially? i would say at its stock speed of 50mhz(if its a 50mhz part) then no,earlier models run warm but still dont really need a heatsink.

but on the other hand a 486 heatsink and fan near enough fits perfectly, the size of the cpu is 46x46mm of the top of my head.

If you can afford to switch to a revision 6 E41J Mask you may see some drop in temperature.

they run cool at its rated 50mhz so dont need a heatsink at 50mhz,and they overclock well(although you will need active cooling for an overclock)

Thanks Jope, so if I want to overclock all I need to do is change the crystal or is there more to it?

That's a start at least. If you have 70ns RAM, you might need to find some faster SIMMs.

You need an accelerator which can be upgraded or a new accelerator. Expect to pay £300 including CPU or more

Hey can you post some photos of your a4000T and the accelerator? Would be interesting to see what you have there.

I could post some pics if you want to see it now it has the Cyberstorm PPC in it and I will take the warp out of my 4000D and put the T4060 in my desktop.

My 4000T has the Cyberstrom PPC, KitchenSYNC, YCP-100, Flyer, VT4000, 2 - 18GB Video Drives, 1 - 9.1GB Audio drive, 1 - 1.44MB floppy, 1 Yamaha SCSI CDROM, IDE to 16GB CF which I boot from. Running WB 3.1 and Flyer 4.2 and LW 5.0

Nice card looks similar (but not the same) as the Quikpak XP 060 card.
